Big breeze, 75 teams, eight races completed. The 2026 Melges 15 U.S. National Championship showed how Vakaros RaceSense and MarkSetBots help Race Committees run fairer, more efficient racing while enhancing safety on the water. Fewer resources dedicated to race management meant more support where it mattered most, allowing competitors to focus on racing even in challenging conditions. Every April, nearly a thousand Optimist sailors descend on the shores of Lake Garda for one of the biggest youth sailing events in the world. At the 44th Lake Garda Meeting, Coach Maru Urban and the UR Sailing team used the event as a proving ground for a new approach to performance training powered by Vakaros technology. Vakaros has announced a new partnership with the International Dragon Association, bringing the Vakaros RaceSense start system to one of sailing’s most iconic and enduring fleets. The International Dragon Class will officially implement RaceSense in its class rules starting April 1, 2026, introducing a new era of precision and fairness on the starting line.
