Over the past few years, we’ve spoken with dozens of students and early professionals who share the same ambition from many elite universities across North America. They want to work in venture capital. They want to become serious individual investors as LPs or Angels. They want to build startups. But after months of networking and searching, many quietly admit the same frustration: They don’t really know what this space actually looks like on a daily basis, or what skills are required to enter it. Universities build strong academic foundations from universities. Students learn economics, finance, statistics, and strategy. But analyzing a startup’s market size, stress-testing assumptions, modeling a pre-revenue company, or participating in an investment discussion are rarely taught in a structured, transferable way. There is a gap between learning about business and operating inside venture environments. 📚The Applied Venture & Business Analysis Program was designed to bridge that gap. Rather than emphasizing academic theory, Venture8 Institute focuses on applied decision-making within venture capital and high-growth startup contexts. The curriculum includes: • Introduction to Venture Capital • Startup & Market Analysis • Startup Due Diligence • Financial Modelling for Startups • Post-Investment & Portfolio Strategy • Industry Context & Ecosystem Analysis Participants learn how investors assess opportunities, how startups validate product-market fit, how TAM/SAM/SOM frameworks are applied in real analysis, and how risk is evaluated under uncertainty. The program is also case-based. Participants analyze companies, write structured memos, simulate investment discussions, and engage in applied projects alongside startup and venture environments. This is structured training for those serious about venture, capital markets, startup operations, consulting, or investment-oriented careers. The objective is simple: To move from theoretical knowledge to applied competence. Detailed curriculum structure, admission standards, scholarship tiers, and performance-based work term placements for qualifying candidates are available on our website for prospective applicants. https://lnkd.in/ePPqz3v8

Christmas Eve 🎄 Today I stopped by a few of our clinic partners and dropped off small, customized gifts from the TalkToMedi team, just to say thank you. While many are heading into the holidays, so many physicians and healthcare staff are still working today, caring for patients and keeping clinics running. Huge respect and gratitude to every frontline healthcare worker on call this evening. Our team is working too: quietly building, fixing, and improving, because healthcare doesn’t stop, and the tools supporting it shouldn’t either. All of this is for one goal: building a safer, smarter, and more empathetic voice-of-care communication portal for Canadian healthcare. Merry Christmas 🎄 Wishing you a truly rested and happy holiday. #Entrepreneurship #DigitalHealth #VoiceAI #CanadianHealthcare #HealthcareHeroes #FoundersLife #Gratitude #MerryChristmas

  • Not every founder needs VC — sometimes $1K–3K makes all the difference In Canada, so many founders build cashflow-driven businesses — from Shopify stores to creative digital ventures. The challenge? Traditional VC doesn’t back them, and banks move too slowly. That’s why, thanks to our sponsor Clickspaces Inc., UTVC is piloting a new way to help: small exploratory cheques of $1K–$3K CAD for early-stage founders. We are particularly interested in: - Student and alumni founders from the University of Toronto community  - Early-stage entrepreneurs with demonstrated product-market traction  - Cashflow-positive businesses that require short-term working capital This isn’t about chasing unicorns — it’s about helping entrepreneurs cover inventory, ads, or short-term working capital and grow sustainably. If you’re a founder looking to connect with our investment team, reach out at https://lnkd.in/eBxQgE9Z Disclaimer: UTVC is not a registered investment fund. All investments are made independently by Clickspaces Inc. on a case-by-case basis.
