  • Disability Pride Month is a reminder that the language we use in healthcare can either reinforce stigma—or build genuine respect. Inclusive disability language starts with one core idea: people with disabilities define themselves, not us. There isn’t one “perfect” way to talk about disability, but a consistent starting point is person-first language—for example, “person with a disability” or “person with disabilities.” Person-first wording emphasizes that disability is an important part of someone’s life, but not the entirety of their identity. A few principles we emphasize when supporting people with disabilities: - Avoid framing disability as tragedy and stay away from phrases like “suffers from” or “confined to.”  - Focus on access and systemic barriers, not on “overcoming” disability.  - Respect cultural differences in how disability is understood, discussed, and disclosed within families and communities.  - Center autonomy by asking, “How do you prefer to describe your disability and your experience?” When we choose person-first language that reflects dignity, identity, and cultural context, we do more than “communicate well”—we build trust. For care management, trust is what makes honest conversations and sustainable care plans possible. This Disability Pride Month, we’re inviting healthcare leaders, payers, and care teams to pause and ask: “Does our language reflect how people with disabilities see themselves—or only how our system sees them?” #DisabilityPrideMonth #CulturallySensitiveCare #CareManagement #UtilizeHealth

As June comes to a close and we approach Independence Day, it’s a meaningful time to reflect on the values of freedom, equity, and community. This past month, we recognized Juneteenth; a powerful reminder of the importance of acknowledging history, advancing equity, and continuing the work of freedom for all. June also marked Pride Month, honoring the resilience, contributions, and ongoing pursuit of equality for the LGBTQ+ community. As we look ahead to the Fourth of July, we celebrate the founding ideals of our nation while recognizing that the promise of liberty and justice continues to evolve through collective effort, awareness, and action. In healthcare and community-based work, these moments reinforce the importance of inclusive, equitable care and the responsibility we carry to support all individuals with dignity and respect. Wishing everyone a safe holiday week. ❤️ #IndependenceDay #Juneteenth #Pride

  • June is National Aphasia Awareness Month, and we’re holding space for everyone whose relationship with communication has changed after a health event. Aphasia can make conversations, reading, and everyday tasks feel more complicated than they used to be. That can affect not just appointments and paperwork, but connections with family, friends, and community. At Utilize Health, we believe everyone deserves to be heard, supported, and included in their care, even when words are hard to find. We partner with members and caregivers to slow things down, listen carefully, and make information easier to navigate. This month, we’re honoring the strength it takes to keep showing up—one conversation, one appointment, one small step at a time. If aphasia is part of your life or the life of someone you love, we’re thinking of you. ❤️ #AphasiaAwarenessMonth #NeuroCare #CareManagement #UtilizeHealth

Complex neurological conditions sit at the intersection of clinical complexity, social barriers, and emotional strain—and too often, that intersection is where traditional systems break down. Members may miss critical follow-ups, struggle to access the right rehab or community resources, and feel disconnected from their care plan. Utilize Health is built to meet those challenges head-on. By partnering with health plans, we provide a specialized care management program focused solely on these high-need neuro populations. Our team walks alongside members, coordinates across providers, and helps plans deliver more connected, compassionate, and effective support where it’s needed most.    Learn more about how Utilize Health supports people living with complex neurological conditions, visit our website: www.utilizehealth.com #UtilizeHealth #CareManagement #NeuroCare #HealthCare

Tomorrow, May 30th, is World MS Day – a day of global solidarity for the 2.8 million people living with multiple sclerosis worldwide.  MS isn’t just a neurological diagnosis. It’s a lifelong journey through complex benefits, fragmented providers, and unpredictable symptoms that affect mobility, behavioral health, and independence.  At Utilize Health, we see the difference that coordinated, person-centered support can make for people with MS and other complex neurological conditions. When care teams, health plans, and families are aligned, members are more likely to stay engaged in care, avoid preventable complications, and live the fullest life possible on their own terms.  As we recognize World MS Day this weekend, we’re recommitting to:  - Proactively coordinating care across providers to reduce fragmentation and close gaps   - Connecting members with the right neuro-specialists, rehab, and community resources   - Supporting whole-person goals that matter most to them—not just what shows up in the chart  World MS Day is tomorrow, but the work of supporting people with MS is year-round. If you’re a health plan looking to better support members with complex neurological needs, we’d love to connect.   #WorldMSDay #MultipleSclerosis #NeurologicalCare #CareManagement #PersonCenteredCare #UtilizeHealth

This May, during National Stroke Awareness Month, we're focusing on a critical gap in stroke care: what happens after discharge? More than 795,000 people experience a stroke each year in the U.S. While emergency response saves lives, the months that follow determine quality of life. Many stroke survivors face fragmented care, missed therapy appointments, and confusion navigating complex recovery plans. This is where neurological care management becomes essential. At Utilize Health, we bridge the gap between hospital discharge and long-term recovery by: ·      Coordinating care  ·      Ensuring care continuity and adherence  ·      Managing comorbidities that impact recovery  ·      Removing barriers to accessing essential services Stroke recovery isn't linear—it requires adaptive, ongoing support that evolves with each person's progress. Our specialized care managers work alongside stroke survivors to turn clinical recommendations into achievable outcomes. The stroke may be over, but the real work of recovery has just begun. Coordinated care makes all the difference. #StrokeAwarenessMonth #NeurologicalCare #UtilizeHealth #CareCoordination #StrokeRecovery

  • This National Nurses Week, Utilize Health is celebrating the nurses who quietly hold our care model together—especially our Clinical Quality Nurse Manager, Larry Iguobadia. In neurological care, quality and safety don’t happen by accident. Our Clinical Quality Nurse Manager helps turn evidence into everyday practice, reviews trends to catch risks early, and partners with our care teams to make sure each member’s plan is safe, realistic, and aligned with their goals. Because of nurses like Larry, our members and caregivers can trust that someone is watching the details, advocating for them, and continually raising the bar for what good care looks like. 🩺 To every nurse who shows up with expertise, clarity, and compassion—at Utilize Health and beyond—thank you for all you do, this week and every week. #NationalNursesWeek #UtilizeHealth #BetterCareTogether #ClinicalQuality
