✨🙏🏽 DAY 13: WE STARTED WITH GOD, AND WITH GRATITUDE, WE ENDED WITH GOD (UGMSA GOSPEL ROCKSHOW) 🎶❤️ “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” - Psalm 127:1 ✨ As we brought UGMSA Week 2026 to a close, it was only right that we returned all glory, gratitude, and honor to God. ❤️ This year, for the very first time, we organized the UGMSA Gospel Rockshow- a vision that was deeply personal and meaningful to us as an administration. From the very beginning of this journey, we committed everything into the hands of God, and as the celebrations came to an end, we wanted to gather once again in worship, thanksgiving, and reflection. 🙏🏽✨ The evening was filled with worship, praise, inspiration, fellowship, and moments of genuine spiritual connection as students came together to celebrate not only a successful week, but also God’s grace throughout the academic journey. 🎶🤍 We were greatly honored to host MD Frimpong and Dr Bright Forkuo, whose words, encouragement, and ministry deeply impacted everyone present. Their messages reminded us that while excellence in academics is important, our values, faith, humility, and service to humanity remain equally essential. ✨ This Gospel Rockshow was especially dear to our hearts because it reflected an important belief we hold strongly as an association- that the Christian community within medical school should not only exist, but should also be encouraged, strengthened, and given the space to fellowship and grow spiritually together. ❤️ Beyond the music and worship, the night became a moment of peace, reflection, hope, and unity for many students after an exciting and demanding week of activities. 🙏🏽 A very sincere appreciation goes to the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) for their immense support and dedication in helping organize such a beautiful and impactful program. Your commitment and service contributed greatly to making this vision a reality. 👏🏽✨ To every student who joined us for the final day, thank you for ending this journey together in faith, gratitude, and fellowship. 🤍 Day 13 was more than a closing ceremony. It was a reminder that leadership must remain grounded in purpose, service, humility, and God. ✨ Here is UGMSA. Here, we serve. Here, we grow together. And here, we put God first. ❤️🙏🏽 #UGMSAWeek2026 #GospelRockshow #UGMSA #FaithAndLeadership

🎶🏖️ DAY 12: ONE BEACH, ONE FAMILY, ONE UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT, WHERE THE WAVES CARRIED AWAY OUR STRESS AND BROUGHT US TOGETHER ❤️ “The beach reminds us that no matter how demanding life gets, there must always be room for rest, laughter, and happiness.”🌊✨ After the intensity and excitement of Night Shift, Day 12 of UGMSA Week 2026 gave students the perfect opportunity to relax, bond, and create unforgettable memories together at the beautiful Ondo Beach Resort, Laboma. ❤️ One of the most remarkable things about this year’s beach experience was that, for the very first time, it was made completely free for all UGMSA students. The association fully covered both the venue and gate fees to ensure that every student, regardless of financial background, had the opportunity to be part of the experience. 🤝✨ This was more than just a beach outing- it was a reminder that inclusion, togetherness, and student welfare remain central to the vision of UGMSA. The night was filled with music, laughter, dancing, and genuine happiness as students from different classes came together as one family. We were thrilled to have two powerful DJs and two energetic MCs who kept the atmosphere lively and unforgettable throughout the night. 🎶🔥 There were also several fun activities and games including Cards, Uno, Ludo, Sip & Paint, and many exciting social interactions that kept students actively engaged while creating beautiful memories together. 🎨♟️✨ What made the night truly special was not just the entertainment, but the joy of seeing students relax, connect, laugh freely, and momentarily step away from the pressures of medical school. Moments like these remind us that while the journey of medicine is demanding, friendship, support, and happiness are equally important parts of the experience. ❤️ The celebration continued till daybreak, with students enjoying every moment together until the early hours of the morning. 🌅✨ A very big thank you to all UGMSA students who came around to make Day 12 lively, memorable, and successful. Your energy and presence made the experience truly beautiful. 🙏🏽 Day 12 was not just a beach event. It was a celebration of unity, friendship, happiness, and the beautiful spirit that continues to make UGMSA a family beyond academics. ❤️ #UGMSAWeek2026 #BeachDay #UGMSA #StudentLeadership #MedicalStudents

🩺❤️ DAY 11: HERE IS UGMSA, WHERE SERVICE TO HUMANITY REMAINS OUR CALLING (UGMSA WEEK IN ACTION) ✨ “The heart of the medical profession is not only to treat disease, but to serve humanity with compassion, presence, and care.” ❤️ As part of UGMSA Week 2026, we intentionally planned two major community health outreaches because, as medical students and future healthcare professionals, we believe healthcare should not only exist within hospital walls, but should also reach the people directly within their communities. 🇬🇭✨ Our second health screening outreach took place at the Dansoman Presbyterian Church, where the UGMSA Health Committee collaborated with the Class of 2029 MOMIC Team to provide free health screening and education to members of the community. 🤝 Several services were provided, including: 🩺 Vital signs monitoring 🩸 Blood sugar testing 🧪 Urinalysis ❤️ Blood pressure checks 🦷 Basic health and dental education Both the elderly and the young actively participated in the screening exercise, and it was touching to see the level of openness, trust, and appreciation shown by members of the community. Moments like these remind us that healthcare is not only about prescriptions and treatment, but also about listening, educating, reassuring, and simply being present for people. ❤️ Beyond the screenings, we had meaningful interactions with community members on healthy living, the importance of routine check-ups, early detection of disease, medication adherence, and preventive healthcare practices. These conversations continue to emphasize why community engagement remains essential in improving health outcomes. ✨ A very big appreciation goes to the Week Celebration Committee, the UGMSA Health Committee, and the Class of 2029 MOMIC Team for their hard work, sacrifice, and dedication towards making this outreach impactful and successful. 👏🏽🙏🏽 To every student who volunteered and served with humility and compassion, thank you for embodying the true spirit of the medical profession. ❤️ Here is UGMSA. Here, we care. Here, we serve humanity. ✨ #UGMSAWeek2026 #UGMSA #CommunityHealth

🔥💫 DAY 8: WHEN COMMUNITY, ENERGY, AND TALENT COME TOGETHER, MEMORIES ARE CREATED (UGMSA WEEK IN ACTION) 🎉🏋🏽♂️🍲 Day 8 of UGMSA Week 2026 was truly one of the most vibrant and unforgettable days of the entire celebration. From morning till evening, the atmosphere around UGMS was filled with excitement, laughter, music, teamwork, and the beautiful energy that reminds us what it means to belong to a united student community. ❤️ This year, we introduced “Made For UGMSA”- a special initiative designed to create an environment where students could showcase their talents, businesses, strength, creativity, and passion outside the lecture hall. ✨ The day featured multiple exciting activities happening simultaneously, including: 🔥 Sankofa Cookout Competition 💪 UGMSA Strongest Competition 🏎️ Car and Motor Bike Show 🛍️ Pop-Up Market 🎮 FIFA Tournament One of the most beautiful things about Day 8 was how every corner of the school carried life and activity. There was truly something for everyone, and seeing students move from one event to another with smiles and excitement created memories many of us will never forget. 🤍 The Pop-Up Market became a wonderful platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products. Free slots were given to students to support their businesses and encourage creativity and financial empowerment among members of the association. From fashion items to food, accessories, and various products, students showed incredible innovation and enterprise. It was inspiring to see colleagues support one another not only academically, but also economically. 🛍️✨ The Sankofa Cookout Competition also brought classes together in a beautiful display of teamwork, culture, and culinary creativity. Every class representative gave their best, but congratulations to the Class of 2028 for emerging victorious. 👏🏽🏆 The Car and Motor Bike Show added excitement and energy to the environment, while the FIFA tournament kept students actively engaged throughout the day. 🔥 A major highlight was the first-ever UGMSA Strongest Competition, where representatives from each class competed. The competition itself was intense, exciting, and full of determination. Participants competed in several challenging events including: 🔥 Tyre Flip 🔥 Arm Wrestling 🔥 Push-Ups 🔥 Deadlift 🔥 Bench Press This initiative aligns with the UGMSA Gym Initiative we introduced this year to promote student wellness and fitness, including free gym registration and UGMSA contributing GHS 50 monthly for every registered student. ❤️ Congratulations to the Class of 2026 for winning the competition, and special congratulations to Clarkson Duku-Acheampong Clarkson Duku-Acheampong for officially emerging as the UGMSA Strongest 2026. 🏆🔥 Finally, thank you to all our sponsors, organizers, and every student who showed up to support and make Day 8 a memorable success. 🌍✨ DAY 7: WHEN YOUNG WOMEN FIND THEIR VOICE, COMMUNITIES FIND HOPE 👑🎗️ Day 7 of UGMSA Week 2026 was a powerful reminder that leadership, advocacy, and service can come together to create real impact. 💫 The day featured two remarkable events: the Alumni Connect and the historic Miss UGMSA Project Defence, an initiative introduced to strengthen women advocacy within our student community and create platforms where young women can lead meaningful change. 🤍 For the first time in UGMSA history, representatives from Level 100 to Level 600 stepped forward, not simply to compete, but to champion HIV/AIDS advocacy within communities. Through education, awareness creation, and compassionate engagement, these young women used their voices to fight stigma and inspire hope. 🎗️❤️ Miss UGMSA was never designed to focus only on beauty; it was created to give purpose a platform and remind us that advocacy can wear a crown. 👑✨ We were deeply honored to have distinguished personalities support this vision, including: ✨ Prof Yvonne Dei-Adomakoh, Dean of the University of Ghana Medical School Yvonne Dei- Adomakoh ✨ Prof. Sandra Hewlett, Dean of the University of Ghana Dental School Sandra Hewlett ✨ Dr Fred Nana Poku, Director of Technical Services at the Ghana AIDS Commission ✨ Naval Lieutenant Abigail Wilson-Adjei ✨ Prof K.A. Bonsaffoh, Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, UGMS ✨ Prof Bertha Serwaa Ayi, President of the UGMS Alumni Association Dr. Bertha Serwa Ayi MB,ChB, FACP, FIDSA, MBA Their presence alone meant so much to us as students. In the midst of their demanding responsibilities, they still made time to encourage and support young people who are trying to make a difference. For that, we remain sincerely grateful. 🙏🏽 A very special thank you to the Deans of the Medical and Dental Schools, Prof Bertha Serwaa Ayi, Prof K.A. Bonsaffoh, and Dr Fred Nana Poku for honoring our invitation, supporting this vision, and continuously inspiring students through your leadership, guidance, and dedication to healthcare advocacy and education. 🤍🙏🏽 Special appreciation to the Miss UGMSA Committee, all the queens, school leadership, and every student who supported this initiative. Your dedication, encouragement, and belief in this vision made Day 7 truly unforgettable. 🙏🏽❤️ Day 7 reminded us that true beauty is found in service, true leadership in compassion, and true impact in using our voices for the good of others. 👑🎗️ #UGMSAWeek2026 #MissUGMSA #HIVAdvocacy #WomenInLeadership #UGMSA #CommunityImpact #HealthcareAdvocacy

✨ DAY 6B: WHEN CONVERSATIONS CHALLENGE US, THEY ALSO UNITE US (UGMSA WEEK IN ACTION) ✨ The evening of the Dean’s Breakfast 🍽️ set the stage for one of the most thought-provoking and intellectually engaging moments of UGMSA Week- our Debate Competition 🎤 between the Pre-Clinical and Clinical years. Centered on a deeply sensitive and globally relevant topic, HIV status disclosure in romantic and sexual relationships 🧠❤️, the debate went far beyond an academic exercise. It became a platform for critical thinking, ethical reflection ⚖️, and respectful dialogue on an issue that sits at the intersection of medicine 🩺, human rights 🤝, and societal values 🌍. Both teams approached the motion with depth, empathy, and professionalism 👏🏽. Each side was given ample time ⏳ to present well-structured arguments, challenge perspectives, and respond thoughtfully. What stood out was not just the strength of their points, but the maturity and respect 🙏🏽 with which such a delicate subject was handled. There were moments of intensity 🔥, moments of reflection 💭, and moments where perspectives were genuinely stretched. Yet through it all, the atmosphere remained one of mutual respect 🤝 and shared purpose, a powerful reminder that even in disagreement, there is room for unity. At the end of a highly competitive and insightful exchange 🏆, the Clinical years emerged as winners of the debate 🎉. However, the true success of the evening was not defined by the final result, but by the quality of engagement, the courage to confront difficult conversations 💬, and the unity it fostered among us as students and future healthcare professionals 🩺✨. My sincere appreciation goes to the organizing team 🙌🏽 for putting together such a meaningful event, the judges ⚖️ for their fairness and diligence, and all students who participated and supported 💙- your presence and contributions made this truly impactful. As UGMSA, we remain committed to creating spaces that challenge our thinking 🧠, strengthen our voices 🔊, and prepare us for the responsibilities that lie ahead in our profession. Because sometimes, the most important victories are not about winning arguments- but about growing through them 🌱✨.

DAY 6A: DEAN’S BREAKFAST- UGMSA WEEK IN ACTION 🥐☕🎓✨ As the saying goes “Great institutions are not built in silence, but in honest conversations between leadership and the people they serve.” The Dean’s Breakfast brought together the Deans of the Medical and Dental Schools, school administrators, and the student body in a refreshing and purposeful setting, creating space for dialogue, reflection, and shared vision 🤝 The morning was formally set in motion by the Deans alongside student executives with a symbolic champagne toast 🥂✨, a gesture that represented unity, renewed partnership, and a collective commitment to advancing medical and dental education within our institution. A major highlight of the engagement was an open forum session 🎤 where students had the opportunity to directly engage leadership on key academic and welfare-related concerns. Discussions spanned across academic experience, hostel conditions, student welfare systems, and opportunities for international exchange 🌍📚 In a reassuring and forward-looking response, the Deans addressed concerns openly and also highlighted ongoing and proposed interventions aimed at improving student life. These included plans for hostel renovations 🏠, expansion of exchange opportunities for medical and dental students ✈️, and broader efforts to strengthen student welfare structures and support systems 🏥 The session transitioned into a shared breakfast experience 🥞☕, which allowed for more informal conversations, stronger rapport building, and a genuine sense of community between students and leadership. On a note of appreciation, I extend sincere gratitude to the Almighty God for making this a success, our distinguished Deans, Prof. Yvonne Dei-Adomakoh (Dean, UGMS) Yvonne Dei- Adomakoh and Prof. Sandra Hewlitt (Dean, UGDS) Sandra Hewlett - as well as Prof. Florence Dedey, Senior Hall Tutor for the Medical Hostels, and all school management leaders who honoured our invitation and made time to engage with students in such an open and impactful manner 🤍 This engagement reinforces that meaningful progress in medical education is built on dialogue, trust, and collaboration. When leadership and students engage directly, we shape a stronger and more responsive academic community ✨
