⚡ ED3 is reshaping the future of UK electricity networks. With business plan submissions due in December 2026, TXO is proud to be working with DNOs to turn Ofgem's ED3 requirements into practical strategies for network investment, resilience and digitalisation. From anticipatory investment and smarter networks to climate resilience and net-zero readiness, ED3 is setting a new direction for how electricity networks will be planned and operated. “One of the biggest misconceptions about ED3 is that it’s primarily an infrastructure investment story. In reality, the real challenge is delivery. Utilities must balance network growth, resilience, sustainability and operational performance simultaneously. The organisations that succeed will be those that can connect strategy with execution, bringing together network planning, design, deployment, engineering expertise and asset management to deliver measurable outcomes," says Jonathan Sheils, Global Account Director, TXO. At TXO, we enable utilities to build more resilient, efficient and sustainable networks, translating ED3 ambitions into practical outcomes. Through technology lifecycle management, supply chain resilience and circular economy solutions, we maximise asset value, strengthen network performance and accelerate sustainability progress. In our latest blog, we explore the key themes shaping ED3 and what they mean for utilities preparing for the next regulatory period. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e5tq_hGJ #ED3 #Ofgem #Utilities #ElectricityNetworks #AssetManagement #EnergyTransition #Digitalisation #NetZero #SupplyChainResilience #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #TXO

Fibre is expanding fast, but a significant opportunity lies beneath it. As fibre becomes the dominant medium, copper networks remain embedded across estates: partially active, costly to maintain, and rich in recoverable value. Right now, operators have a golden opportunity to accelerate rationalisation: simplifying and unwinding legacy copper, recovering materials, reducing operational drag, and achieving circular‑economy gains. TXO drives this transition end‑to‑end, enabling operators to turn legacy infrastructure into realised value and measurable environmental impact, while fibre‑led networks scale. Read our latest blog to learn more: https://lnkd.in/emDy_2UB Progress isn't only about what we build next. It's about how effectively we recover what's already there. #Fibre #Fiber #CopperSwitchOff #NetworkTransformation #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #UrbanMining #DigitalInfrastructure #AssetRecovery #Telecoms #Rail #CriticalComms

Safety isn't something that should be considered at the end of a project; it needs to be built in from the start. That's a principle we believe strongly in at TXO, and it was the focus of this week's VodafoneThree OneTeam Supplier Day. As a trusted supplier to VodafoneThree, it was great to join industry partners, designers and engineers to discuss how early collaboration and smarter design decisions can reduce risk, improve efficiency and create better outcomes throughout the lifecycle of telecoms infrastructure. The conversations reinforced something we see every day: the best results come when safety, maintainability and practical field experience are considered from the very beginning, not added later. Many of the discussions reflected TXO's own approach to safety: designing with the end user in mind, sharing lessons learned, and working collaboratively across the supply chain to drive continuous improvement. Thank you to VodafoneThree and all the speakers for an engaging and thought-provoking event. We're proud to support initiatives like this and look forward to contributing to future conversations that help raise standards across our industry. #TXO #SafeByDesign #HealthAndSafety #Telecoms #Collaboration #SafetyFirst #VodafoneThree #OneTeam #Innovation

The transition to net zero isn't just about reducing carbon. Done well, it should also strengthen local economies, create skilled jobs in green technology and build more resilient supply chains. That's why circularity matters. Extending the life of critical technology doesn't only reduce Scope 3 emissions. It helps organisations extract more value from existing assets while supporting the people and communities behind essential infrastructure. Our latest article explores why the future of ESG isn't about balancing environmental and social impact. It's about delivering both. ETCS (European Train Control System) migration is often described as a signalling upgrade but that framing misses something bigger. It’s actually one of the most significant infrastructure transitions the rail sector has undertaken in decades. And with that scale comes a second, often overlooked opportunity: the value embedded in what gets removed. Legacy signalling systems, telecoms infrastructure, cabling, and equipment aren’t just being replaced: they’re being retired at scale. Within that sits a clear opportunity for urban mining and asset recovery, alongside the reuse and redeployment of materials that still hold real value. Copper is a good example. It’s widely known it exists in these networks. The challenge isn’t awareness, it’s the practical ability to extract and recover it efficiently at scale. Add in the physical space released through decommissioning, and the conversation shifts again. This isn’t just modernisation, it’s optimisation of the entire lifecycle. ETCS programmes don’t just build the future of rail. They also define how intelligently we deal with its past. This is exactly the challenge TXO helps rail operators navigate. Armed Forces Day is marked in the UK today, and we’re taking a moment to recognise the dedication, resilience and service of those who have worn the uniform. At TXO, many of our colleagues around the world come from armed forces backgrounds. The qualities that define a successful military career — discipline, teamwork, leadership and performing under pressure — are the same qualities that help our teams thrive. As part of today’s reflections, we’re sharing the experiences of James Brown, John Teasdale, and Louis Vipond. Their stories highlight the transition from service life, the skills that stayed with them and the impact they continue to make across our organisation. We’re proud to support those who have served and to offer a community that understands the journey from the forces into civilian life. Sustainability isn’t just about setting goals, it’s about proving impact. It's why we're proud to see organisations like Colt Technology Services using the TXO Carbon Calculator to bring clarity and measurable insight to the environmental value of investment recovery. Marta Trzaska, Sustainability Lead Specialist: Environment & Social Impact at Colt, captured it perfectly: “The TXO Carbon Calculator brings greater visibility to the environmental value of investment recovery, helping Colt quantify the benefits of extending the lifecycle of network equipment. This supports both our sustainability goals and our broader efforts to embed circularity into operations.” Extending the life of network equipment isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for business. And when companies can quantify that value, circularity becomes a strategic advantage, not just an aspiration. If your organisation is looking to turn sustainability ambition into measurable action, exploring investment recovery and circularity is a powerful place to start. Proud to see several of our customers named among TIME’s Top 100 Most Sustainable Companies of 2026. 🌍 This year’s ranking highlights organisations that are not only transparent about their environmental impact but are actively reshaping their operations to build resilient, low‑carbon, future‑ready businesses. Their recognition reflects a clear trend: the organisations leading on sustainability are the ones embracing circularity at scale. As operators face rising pressure to cut embodied carbon, increase transparency, and strengthen supply‑chain resilience, these leaders are showing what’s possible when reuse is built into the technology lifecycle from day one. Congratulations to all the leaders recognised. We’re proud to play our part in supporting these initiatives and driving meaningful change together. 🔗 Read the full list – link in the comments.
