This week, The Salvation Army of Augusta launched the public phase of Standing Together – Restoring Hope, a community campaign to build a new Center of Hope. The current shelter has served Augusta for more than 50 years, but it was originally designed to serve men. Today, more than half of those seeking shelter are women and families with children. The new Center of Hope, planned for Hale Street, will provide a purpose-built environment designed to support stability, safety, and long-term housing outcomes. Thanks to strong community leadership, more than $14.7 million has already been identified toward the $15.7 million goal. We are now inviting the broader community to help complete this final phase.
