Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Regional Manager/Senior Sales Manager - Sea, Air, and Transportation. Based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, the role involves driving business growth in logistics and freight services, with a focus on sea and air transportation. Key responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, implementing strategic sales plans, and achieving revenue targets. The role also involves negotiating contracts, monitoring market trends, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a high standard of service delivery. Requirements: He/she should have: -Min. 10-15 years of experience in sales within the logistics/freight forwarding industry -Good knowledge of market, Having direct shipper/consignee clientele base. -Should be result oriented, identify potential sales opportunities in the sea and air freight sector and have determination to achieve sales targets. -Sales driven approach and prior experience in sales related and business development functions. -Identify new customers and develop Air Freight, Ocean Freight and Trucking products. -Proven ability to generate and close leads. -Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. -Experience to deal with shipper / Shipping line for sea & air freight Forwarding, independently. Responsibilities: -Develop and maintain client relationships to secure new business, identify market opportunities and convert them into profitable sales. -Coordinate with operations and pricing teams to ensure seamless service delivery. -Achieve sales targets and maintain a robust sales pipeline. Preferred Skills: -Strong understanding of freight forwarding services (Sea, Air, transportation and warehousing) -Should have commercial acumen in prioritizing sales options. -Excellent Communication, negotiation and networking skills. Over 480 TEUs rerouted. 750 TEUs delivered. While the market was still writing advisories about it. Over the past two weeks, I've watched the logistics industry produce an extraordinary volume of analysis and commentary about the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb, and the Red Sea. Most of it well-written. Almost none of it operational. At #Trejhara, in 17 days, we successfully and seemlessly delivered: ✅ ~480 TEUs rerouted into KSA via UAE & Oman — zero Hormuz exposure ✅ ~750 TEUs cleared and distributed across GCC — including OOG & Break Bulk This was not a contingency plan. This was live execution in a disrupted market. Here is what most aren't talking about: - This is not a temporary disruption. It is a structural shift. - Cape rerouting is now the norm — adding 10–14 days and USD 1M+ fuel cost per voyage. War risk and emergency surcharges are baseline pricing. - Capacity on Asia–Middle East lanes is tightening every single week. - The companies treating this as a short-term inconvenience will be scrambling for space and rates 90 days from now. I'm also seeing a wave of "alternative gateway" announcements across the industry. Routes are easy to name. Execution is where most solutions quietly break down. Actually moving cargo means mastering: → Transit vs. bonded movement structures → Customs and ccompliance at every gateway → Cross-border trucking coordination into KSA → Inland delivery to final destination This is precisely where paper solutions fail when real cargo arrives.
