While the Capital Park team took part in a clean-up campaign, employees from Welgedag Depot rolled up their sleeves to paint and brighten up the Slovo Park Creche. Transnet Freight Rail engaged learners at Greenpoint High School in Kimberley through a Career Expo held on 14 July 2026. The session introduced learners to the diverse career paths and opportunities available, encouraging them to become ambassadors for rail safety while inspiring them to pursue rewarding careers. Day 2 of the Transnet Freight Rail Strategy Session continues under the theme, "Advancing the Nation." Driven by the purpose of enabling economic growth and supporting South Africa's economic growth, the session is focused on turning strategy into action. The Commercial Department gathered for a two-day strategy session hosted by GM Commercial: Tiisetso Shabangu, under the theme "On Track for Excellence." The session provided a high-level overview of Transnet Freight Rail's strategic direction while aligning the team to deliver greater value our customers. The strategy session was honoured by the presence of TFR Chief Executive Russell Baatjies, who challenged the team to move beyond conventional thinking, embrace agility, and strengthen customer understanding as the foundation for commercial success. Transnet GCE, Michelle Phillips, who was also in attendance, reinforced the importance of exceeding customer expectations through professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity, while also emphasizing the collective responsibility to grow Transnet and deliver sustainable value.
