The Ritual of Scent Conceptual Case Study: Reimagining Fragrance Sampling We imagined a collaboration between Thursday and Le Labo Fragrances that transforms a simple sample kit into a slower, more immersive sensory experience. At the centre is a curated box of five fragrances, each designed to be explored through a digital companion that deepens understanding, emotion, and connection. Inside the kit, a QR code unlocks a mobile microsite that guides the customer through a layered journey. As each fragrance is sampled, the experience reveals the craft behind it, from the hands that blend the formula to the origins of its ingredients and the process that shapes the final scent. Guided audio, subtle soundscapes, and restrained visual storytelling invite the user to experience not just what a fragrance smells like, but how it feels and the atmosphere it creates. The phone becomes part of the ritual, moving in sync with the act of sampling, allowing each scent to unfold in its own time. The journey concludes with a seamless transition into purchase, enabling customers to continue directly through the microsite without breaking the flow from discovery to decision. This concept explores how physical product, digital design, and storytelling can work together to elevate sampling into something more considered, more intentional, and more human. In a world of endless choice, depth and craftsmanship still matter. Something we’d love to build with Le Labo Fragrances

FIND YOUR TRIBE For the launch of the Samsung S22, we set out to connect Gen Z to what matters most to them: belonging. With its standout low-light camera, the S22 deserved more than a traditional campaign. Working closely with Samsung’s Gen Z team, we uncovered a simple truth. This generation wants authentic connection, without being boxed in by labels. So we created a fast, intuitive digital experience that matched users to their “tribe” based on shared preferences and personality traits. Bold visuals. Elemental identities inspired by air, earth, fire and water. A seamless app journey designed to feel instinctive and personal. The digital experience unlocked a real-world moment. Inside the Low-Light Lab, each tribe triggered a personalised LED light show, inviting users to capture standout selfies and experience the camera’s power first-hand A connected journey from screen to space. What can a fantasy cult classic like Brazil (1985) teach brand builders about imagination? This week on Auteur, brand strategist Becca Magnus selects Terry Gilliam’s truly one-of-a-kind film—a government-controlled world of endless paperwork, failing technology, and one man who dares to dream his way out. Fueled by absurd comedy and dark humour, Brazil shows us why imagination is the only thing that can’t be controlled—and what that means for storytelling in an AI world. New Case Study 🚨 Link in comments. The entertainment industry is a world of glamour and grit—countless aspiring actors set out with a dream, but only a select few get to stand in the spotlight. After years of launching careers through their well-established extras agency, Mad Dog 2020 came to us with a vision to launch an actors-only division. Working hand-in-hand with their show-business-trained team, we embarked on a journey of naming, positioning and designing their breakout venture.
