Updates

  • Edition 8 of IEC 60079-0:2026 has been published. Here is a change that will also be of interest to users. In view of increasing global warming, it has been decided to specify the nominal ambient temperature range on the product marking. A maximum ambient temperature of 40 °C is no longer appropriate in many parts of the world. In accordance with the new labelling requirements, both the upper and lower ambient temperature ranges must be specified. If there are multiple ambient temperature ranges and it is not possible to include the full information on the label, the symbol ‘X’ for ‘Special Conditions’ is appended to the certificate number. thuba’s explosionproof equipments are already certified for an ambient temperature range of −50 °C to 60 °C or −20 °C to 60 °C. This makes it easier to use our Ex equipment across a wide variety of regions around the world.
