𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞'𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 🇳🇱⚛️ We are proud to announce that THORIZON, together with VDL Groep, NRG PALLAS, Delft University of Technology and TNO, has secured the Netherlands' first national grant dedicated specifically to nuclear innovation. The consortium will develop and validate critical technologies needed to bring Europe's first molten salt reactor to commercial deployment, including: ⚙️ The first full-scale 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 of our replaceable reactor cartridge 🔥 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 in molten salt up to 650°C 🏭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 and critical component validation that will support future licensing and industrialization This is another important step towards the PIONEER demonstrator and the first commercial Thorizon One reactor. ⚡ 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞'𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🇪🇺 Our COO Laure Claquin joined energy leaders at the Siemens Energy Customer Experience Day in Berlin to discuss one of Europe's biggest challenges: how to accelerate the energy transition while strengthening energy resilience. One message came through loud and clear: Europe doesn't lack technology or talent. It needs the ambition, financing and speed to deploy proven clean energy solutions at scale. Three priorities stood out: ⚡ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫. The U.S. has demonstrated how ambitious public innovation programs can accelerate deployment. Europe should match that level of urgency and ambition. 💶 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Public and private financing mechanisms need to become larger, faster and simpler. Critical technologies cannot wait for bureaucracy. 🤝 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞'𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬. Europe already has world-class engineering, industrial capabilities and collaborative ecosystems. Now we need the capital and political commitment to turn them into projects. At THORIZON, we are advancing 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 to complement renewables in a diversified and resilient energy mix. But achieving this transition requires cross-sector collaboration and bold policy action. Germany recorded the EU’s highest industrial electricity prices in 2025 while competitiveness continues to come under pressure. 🔹𝐍𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩: It already provides 23% of Europe’s electricity without carbon emissions 🔹Advanced reactors fundamentally 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧: self stabilizing, low pressure, and capable of using long lived nuclear waste as fuel, turning a liability into a resource. 🔹This is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭.
