Ask a 3PL leader what happened in their operation last week and they'll usually have an answer for you. Companies don't always need a bigger budget. Sometimes companies just need to get more out of the tools they already have. At Tenjumps, when we assessed one city's technology stack, we found 3 platforms they were already paying for that had never been fully adopted. The platforms weren't the problem, but the way they were implemented was. We worked with five departments to identify 11 initiatives that could make day-to-day operations more efficient. Each one was mapped out with the effort required, expected impact, and potential savings. One opportunity stood out: contract approvals. The process was completely manual and involved nearly every department. By automating that workflow, the city could cut vendor onboarding time by more than half while reducing the administrative burden on staff. That's what a technology roadmap should do. Sometimes the biggest improvements come from connecting systems that are already there. That's what we did for one of our clients. Eight different departments were all using their own systems. Different tools, different processes, and different ways of reporting data. Over time, no one had a complete picture of what was happening across the organization. Every Databricks environment is different.
