Think about the man who shaped who you are. Maybe it was your dad. Maybe it was a coach, an uncle, an older brother, or a mentor. One thing is for sure: it was someone who showed up when it mattered. This Father's Day, we're celebrating all of these men with 4 talks from the TEDx stage that dive into fatherhood, mentorship, and the men who change lives just by staying. 🔗 Link to the blog: https://lnkd.in/edQx6_Tj Tag someone who shaped you 👇 #TEDxAtlanta #FathersDay #Mentorship #Fatherhood #TEDTalks #ATL

“I passed the history tests, but I didn’t learn about 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵 until decades later.” That realization sent TEDxAtlanta / Ideas into Action Licensee Jacqui C. down an unexpected path. As an immigrant who grew up studying American history in Singapore, she knew about slavery, the Civil War, and the Emancipation Proclamation. So how did she miss 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵? And what did a chance conversation on the way to TED, friendships with TEDx organizers around the world, and years spent curating ideas teach her about freedom that history class never did? In this personal reflection, Jacqui explores how her understanding of freedom evolved; from something she thought she understood to something she now sees as a lifelong pursuit. The result is a perspective on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵 that is both deeply personal and unexpectedly global.
