Great reminder from EverTrue as summer temperatures continue to rise. ☀️ As caregivers, it's easy to focus on everyone else's wellbeing. Don't forget to check in on yourself, too! Staying hydrated, taking breaks from the heat, and knowing the signs of heat exhaustion can help keep everyone safe this summer.
Summer is a great time to get out and enjoy outdoor activities, but it’s important to remember that too much heat and too much sun is not safe for anyone. Jha Mitchell, an RN and Director of Nursing at EverTrue Mason Pointe, said that it is important to even monitor yourself when coming back inside because "sometimes you don't get the effects of overheating until much later and you think everything's okay." Older adults can have fun safely this summer by remembering a few tips: 🫗Stay hydrated ☀️Wear (and reapply) sunscreen 🧢Dress appropriately for the weather ⏲️Limit outdoor activities when temperatures are hottest and, ❄️Finally, when you’re starting to feel too hot, cool off somewhere with air conditioning.

Did you know more than 2 million grandparents in the U.S. are raising their grandchildren? In just two weeks, Chelsea Gilchrist, MGS will be speaking at the FFTA-For the Good of Families 2026 Annual Conference on supporting grandparent and older adult kinship caregivers through evidence-based practices. These caregivers often step into their roles unexpectedly, navigating everything from school enrollment and healthcare decisions to financial and emotional challenges—all while managing their own aging journey. We're looking forward to joining this important conversation and connecting with others who are passionate about supporting kinship families! #KinshipCare #Grandfamilies #CaregiverSupport #FamilyCaregiving #AgingServices

Today, we recognize Juneteenth and reflect on the values of freedom, resilience, community, and the importance of equitable support for all. As an organization dedicated to supporting caregivers, we also acknowledge that caregiving experiences are not the same for everyone. Many caregivers face unique challenges in accessing resources, respite, and support. We remain committed to fostering inclusive communities and ensuring caregivers feel seen, supported, and connected to the help they need. Thank you, Elizabeth Miller, CCC™, CSA® for this thoughtful reflection on Juneteenth and the caregiving experience! #Juneteenth #Caregiving
Today is Juneteenth. 🖤❤️💚 We honor freedom — and the long, painful, resilient journey it took to get here. As I think about Juneteenth and its spirit of liberation, community, and rest — I can't help but think about Black caregivers. Because the data tells a story that deserves to be spoken out loud: 🖤 Black caregivers are more likely to provide 40+ hours of care per week than their White peers 🖤 Black and Hispanic older adults face disproportionately higher rates of dementia and chronic illness — meaning more family members step into complex caregiving roles 🖤 And yet Black caregivers are less likely to access paid support, respite care, and community services Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, self-determination, and the radical right to rest. And that message could not be more relevant for Black caregivers who are carrying so much.🖤 (Sources: Race Differences in Characteristics of Black and White Caregivers, PMC; Alzheimer's Association 2026) #Juneteenth #BlackCaregivers #FamilyCaregiver #CaregiverSupport

Your best CNA just gave notice. Not because of the job — because she's also caring for her mother, raising two kids, and there's nothing left by the time her shift ends. This is the invisible load that’s driving your turnover. And it comes with real cost.
Your turnover is costing you. See how much.

Yesterday, our CEO, Lindsey Niemeier, had the opportunity to deliver the opening keynote at the Georgia Senior Living Association Tech Summit with AgeTech Connect in Atlanta. As senior living organizations continue to navigate new technologies and innovations, Lindsey shared a message that resonated throughout the day: technology should amplify human connection, not replace it. Special thanks to Catie Ramp, MBA, MPA and Jeffrey Gray for bringing together such an engaging group of leaders and innovators! #SeniorLiving #AgeTech #Innovation #SeniorCare #CaregiverSupport

There's never a wrong time to better understand and support the children in our military-connected families. In this conversation, TCARE CEO Lindsey Niemeier is joined by Amy Kennedy of The Kennedy Forum and Ruby Mathews of Charlie Health to discuss stress, behavior changes, and what adults may be missing when children are struggling. Together, they explore what families may be seeing, what kids may be carrying, and how parents, family members, and other trusted adults can better support the children in their lives. Thank you to Amy and Ruby for helping us shine a light on this important topic! https://lnkd.in/gvsnft_s #MilitaryFamilies #CaregiverSupport #MentalHealth #TCARE
