Updates

  • "I'm not convinced" is never a hiring decision. In a recent conversation with T2T CEO Amy Giggey-Burns, PHR, Recruiter Erika Thomas, SHRM-CP, shares a story that every hiring manager needs to hear. A candidate had already been passed on once. Six months later, the same role opened up. Same candidate. Still interested. The manager still wasn't sure. So Erika did what great recruiters do: she dug deeper and built the interview differently. As Erika explains: "Asking probing questions to help a hiring manager figure out what they're needing, because they may not even know, that's where the real work is." Sometimes the best candidate is already in front of you. They just haven't had the right conversation yet. Want to read more about what Erika has to say? Check out her latest blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gTMNVwK8

  • The best hire might already be on your team. T2T's own Erika Thomas told CEO Amy Giggey-Burns what her favorite clients all have in common, and it has nothing to do with budget or headcount. The companies Erika loves working with aren't just focused on filling open roles. They're thinking about the people they already have. Who's ready for more? Who's being developed? Who could step into something bigger? That mindset changes everything about how recruiting works and how employees feel about where they work. In Erika's words: "They are really dedicated to the success of their employees. They're really trying to promote more from within. I think succession planning is awesome. I think it's a really healthy mindset to be in a company. All you're doing is investing in your associates and strengthening them." When did you last ask who on your team is ready to grow?

  • We are trying something new. T2T CEO Amy Giggey-Burns, PHR has been having some really honest conversations with the people who do this work every day, and we think you should hear them. Introducing Real Talk, a series where Amy sits down with HR and recruiting professionals to talk about what's actually happening out there. No fluff, no corporate speak, just real conversations about real situations. First up is T2T Recruiter Erika Thomas, SHRM-CP, and she made one thing very clear: your hiring pipeline is also your reputation. Every touchpoint in your candidate experience leaves an impression. How fast you respond, how you handle a canceled role, and whether you follow up after the final round. These things matter more than most companies realize because candidates talk. And you never know who you're talking to. As Erika puts it: "Candidates are customers in a way. You never know who you're talking to. It's really important to just consider all aspects. It's about how the candidate is feeling, but also how does that affect your company, how does that affect your brand and your business, and what kind of values are you upholding?" Treat your hiring pipeline like the reputation tool it is.
