SEO isn't dead. GEO isn't either. My feed is full of takes like these: "Google is dead. AI is everything now." "This AI stuff is hype. SEO still wins." Both are wrong. AI visibility and SEO are connected problems. LLMs are trained on the internet. They often search it too. Fix one and you're working on the other. Here's where most tools fall short. They treat LLMs like search engines. Same scraping playbook. Same dashboard mechanics. LLMs are stochastic, contextual, and drift-prone. Tracking mention counts and calling it signal misses the point. There's another problem. It's way easier to track Adidas vs. Nike than a local taco shop vs. Chipotle.
