Every statistic in our Impact Report represents a person, a journey and an opportunity. A few weeks ago, we shared how we're helping to develop and inspire an education workforce that thrives. But what does that look like in practice? Meet Sam. Like many teachers, Sam was ready for her next challenge but wasn't sure where to begin. Through the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), which she completed with Best Practice Network, she gained the confidence, knowledge and support to take the next step in her leadership journey. Today, she's leading with greater confidence and helping to shape the future for the pupils, colleagues and communities around her. It's a reminder that investing in professional development isn't just about qualifications. It's about giving talented people the confidence to grow, lead and stay in the profession. When educators thrive, children thrive too. ✨ Careers Week at William Byrd School ✨ Yesterday, we had the pleasure of visiting William Byrd School to deliver a session as part of their annual Careers Week, helping students explore the many possibilities open to them as they think about their future careers. Students reflected on their interests, skills and achievements, as well as the things they would like to learn and develop in the future. By the end of the afternoon, each student had created their own mini-CV - both a fantastic achievement and a great way of building confidence and recognising their strengths. The session was particularly poignant in light of a recent blog by our SEND Director, Elizabeth Murray, on the UK's growing NEET challenge and the importance of earlier transition planning for young people with SEND. Successful transitions into employment, training, or further education shouldn’t begin in KS4. They need to begin much earlier, through conversations about aspirations, confidence-building, skills development, and exposure to different pathways and possibilities. That’s why opportunities like Careers Week are so important. They create space for young people to start thinking about their future, discover what they’re capable of, and understand the many routes available to them as they move towards adulthood. 📖 You can read Liz's blog, The Cliff Edge at 16, the NEET Crisis, and the Need for Earlier Transition Planning, here: https://lnkd.in/etpQxpBd A huge thank you to Ben Spinks and Jenna Naulls at William Byrd School for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of such an inspiring week. #TransitionPlanning #NEETCrisis #CareersWeek

For many, apprenticeship levy has traditionally been used for business or finance roles, while opportunities to develop school-based staff have been overlooked. In this short video, Nicola explains how SkillsHub helped her trust take a different approach. Rather than starting with a list of apprenticeship programmes, we started with the trust's priorities. ✔️ Where did they want to strengthen SEND provision? ✔️ Which roles would have the biggest impact on pupils? ✔️ How could they use levy funding to support long-term workforce development? From there, we carried out a levy audit and built a plan around the trust's goals, identifying the right apprenticeship pathways to support them. It's a simple shift in thinking, but one that can make a huge difference. 🎥 Watch Nicola explain how they're using SkillsHub to align apprenticeship funding with their workforce priorities. If you'd like to explore what this could look like for your trust, we'd love to chat. Book a 30-minute discovery call and we'll help you understand your levy position, identify priority pathways, and map out a plan that supports your workforce goals: https://lnkd.in/eaY2P_cs #MATLeadership #SchoolWorkforce #Apprenticeships #SEND #EducationLeadership #ProfessionalDevelopment
