Getting a team to think well together doesn't always happen at a desk; sometimes it happens while painting clay pots on a sunny afternoon. We stepped away from our screens and let creativity lead for a few hours. Just people being present with each other, making something with their hands. The conversations that come out of moments like these are the ones that carry back into the work. When a team is genuinely in sync, you feel it in how they solve problems, how they challenge each other, and how they show up on the hard days. Any craftsman knows that true work takes work from the hands connected to the mind. It turns out that's just as true when the work is a lopsided clay pot.

Barcelona delivered on the weather, and the conversations matched the energy. Alex Terry, Catherine Duggan, and Tim Liddle spent a few days at #GlobalABS deep in conversation with some of the most interesting minds in AI right now. Good sessions, sharp people, and more than a few ideas worth bringing home. The steps count was impressive too. 😮💨 #StructuredFinance #AI #AIinFinance #TeamUpdate

Most conference meetings end with a brochure. At #GlobalABS this year, you'll walk away with a working prototype. Bring us a real business problem. In under 30 minutes, we'll build you a working solution. We're keeping it intimate; book yours directly with Catherine Duggan or Tim Liddle.

Most conference meetings end with a brochure, but at this year's #GlobalABS conference, we'd like you to walk away with a working prototype. Bring us a real business problem - one you'd love to solve but haven't started on because nobody knew where to begin. In under 30 minutes, we'll build you a working software prototype that could solve it. Drop Catherine Duggan or Tim Liddle a message if you're interested in meeting up at the conference or if you'd just like to find out more.

Most AI security conversations start too late. By the time an organisation asks "is this secure?" they've already embedded a model that can be manipulated through its inputs, fine-tuned on data it shouldn't have seen, or coaxed into leaking what it knows through its outputs. Prompt injection. Model poisoning. Data leakage. Traditional testing frameworks weren't built for any of it, and in regulated industries, the gap between "we assumed it was fine" and "we should have checked" gets expensive fast. Swipe through to read what most implementation teams overlook when AI goes in without a security-first lens. This comes from Siphesihle Hlophe, Quality Engineering Manager at StructureIt (and the person thinking hardest about what it means to test systems that think). Part 2 drops next week with the implementation framework for teams who want to get ahead of this. #knowledgesharing #strategicthinking #aiimpact

Our QA Guild came back from the Test Automation Summit in Johannesburg with a quiet kind of satisfaction. The Quality Engineering direction they've been building is aligned with where industry leaders are focused (Good to hear it confirmed in a room full of people doing the same work every day!). Credit to the team at TESTINGMIND for putting together an event worth having that conversation at. Something did come up in the gaps between sessions, though. As AI adoption accelerates, security testing is becoming one of the biggest challenges the industry will need to work through. Novel attack vectors, LLM-specific vulnerabilities, exposure in regulated environments — it's a space that hasn't yet seen a clear response built around it, and that's worth paying attention to in your newsfeed and during your morning coffee chat. #knowledgesharing #strategicthinking #techconsultancy #conference

AI is everywhere right now, and there is pressure to implement it. A growing number of organizations are spending significant budget on tools they don't fully understand, solving problems they haven't clearly defined. The social media narrative around AI adoption tends to focus on the wins (the launches, the announcements, the before-and-after stories). What gets less airtime is the cost of poorly scoped implementations, or the possibility that a simpler, cheaper solution would have done the job just as well. For most organizations, the question worth asking before any AI investment is a straightforward one... What inefficiency are we trying to fix, and does this technology address that specifically? Buying into the most advanced tools available is not the same as solving a business problem. And in an environment where AI vendors are very good at selling vision, that distinction matters more. #knowledgesharing #strategicthinking #techconsultancy

Most of the software you ship isn't code you wrote. During a client audit, we were asked whether we could account for every piece of third-party code running in our systems. It's a question most teams haven't prepared for, and in a regulated environment, not having a clear answer creates real exposure. Barry McCauley covers how we got ahead of it in his under-a-minute version. #knowledgesharing #strategicthinking #techconsultancy

Out-of-date third-party libraries are one of the most common findings in penetration test reports, even when they're not the code you wrote. Barry McCauley, Cloud Security Engineer, wrote up how Dependency Track solves this by automatically generating a Software Bill of Materials on every build and continuously monitoring it across all your projects. #knowledgesharing #strategicthinking #techconsultancy
