🚨 NEW REPORT ALERT: Water Reuse OPEX & Carbon The Enabling Water Smart Communities Project has released its latest publication, highlighting the operating costs of water reuse systems in communal, residential settings, as well as their overall carbon impact. This report found that communal water reuse is far more cost-effective than previously believed, reaching as low as £130 per household per year. 🚿🏘️ It was also found that the embodied carbon of these water reuse systems is largely offset due to the water carbon savings generated over the course of their lifespan. ♻️💧 If you are a housing developer and want to know more about what this means for your future projects, visit our website to read our full breakdown of this report. ⤵️ ⛈️ https://lnkd.in/epP6NsHf #WaterReuse #CommunalRainwaterHarvesting #PositiveCarbon #WaterEfficiency

South East Water imposes a temporary usage ban on hosepipes across the county of Kent. ❌⚠️ Potable water demand has surged during the recent heatwave, and despite producing an additional 100 million litres of water per day, South East Water introduced a countywide hosepipe ban to protect supplies. 🚿📉 With hotter, drier weather becoming more common, the UK's water infrastructure can no longer rely solely on traditional supply methods. Greater adoption of water reuse technologies and measures such as mandatory rainwater harvesting will be essential to improve resilience. Water reuse is no longer a 'nice to have'; visit our website to learn more about why it is an essential component of a resilient and sustainable water future. ⛈️ https://lnkd.in/dVsjNkZH

Water scarcity is already costing the UK economy an estimated £3.8 billion every year. 💷💧 According to the Climate Change Committee's Fourth Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk, annual losses could rise by 50% by the 2050s, reaching £5.8 billion per year, and up to £6.9 billion under a high-impact scenario. 📉 Building water resilience has never been more important. Water reuse is one of the key ways organisations can reduce reliance on mains water, strengthen resilience, and help mitigate the growing impacts of water scarcity. 🚿♻️ Discover how Stormsaver's water reuse solutions can help build a more water secure future. What has the UK Government committed to doing to increase the uptake of water reuse systems?💧♻️ In December 2025, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs published its revised Environmental Improvement Plan, providing valuable insight into the future direction of water reuse policy in the UK. The plan includes several commitments that could help accelerate the adoption of water reuse technologies across the built environment. We've summarised the key commitments relating to water reuse in the slides below. For a deeper dive into what these policy developments mean for engineers, consultants and developers, read our expert briefing: https://lnkd.in/eachPt5F #WaterReuse #RainwaterHarvesting
