Today, we’re honored to spotlight Terry and his dad, Sgt. Dan McDonald with the Collier County Sheriff's Office. Terry, one of our STARs, has brought joy, hard work, and positivity to STARability for over a year, building confidence, friendships, and new skills through programs like STAR Studio, boat trips, and Walk & Run Club. Sgt. Dan McDonald, a 36-year law enforcement veteran with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, has dedicated his career to public safety and autism awareness. As the founder of CCSO’s Autism Support Project, he helps families, agencies, and community groups better understand and support individuals with autism. Together, Terry and Sgt. From there, a BCBA can teach positive replacement skills that support communication, independence and daily living.
