Since the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre more than 67,100 Jews from dozens of countries have chosen to make Israel their home. French Jewish immigration alone has surged over 200% in two years, from 1,097 arrivals in 2023 to 3,357 in 2025, with over 18,500 immigration files currently open in France. This week, 128 new French immigrants landed at Ben Gurion Airport on the first special aliyah flight of the 2026 summer season, among them three-month-old twins and a 73-year-old grandfather. Nearly a third of all new immigrants since October 7, 2023, are young people under 35. "At a time when Israeli society is facing heavy challenges, aliyah takes on an even deeper meaning," said Jewish Agency Chairman Maj. Gen. (res.) Doron Almog. "Every immigrant who comes here builds another pillar in our shared future." Am Yisrael Chai. 🇮🇱

The Maccabiah Games, an international Jewish sporting event held every four years in Israel and often called the "Jewish Olympics," delivered more than athletic competition this year. Around 1,200 international athletes and guests, many visiting Israel for the very first time, fulfilled a lifelong dream by celebrating their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime ceremony was made possible by the Maccabiah, KKL-JNF, and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. Mazel tov! 🇮🇱✡️ Credit: Maccabiah 2026

Michael Katz was critically injured when an Iranian regime missile struck a residential building in Haifa, northern Israel. After being rescued from the rubble, he tragically succumbed to his injuries months later. The same missile attack murdered Lena Ostrovsky Gershovitz (68) and Vladimir Gershovitz (73), their son Dimitri Gershovitz (42), and his wife, Lucille-Jane Gershovitz (29). May the memories of all the victims forever be a blessing. 🕯️

French anti-terrorist prosecutors have launched a formal investigation after a military-grade assault rifle and a handgun were found in a stolen car parked near a synagogue in Sarcelles, a Paris suburb home to one of France's largest Jewish communities. Around 300 people were evacuated from the area on Saturday evening. France's Interior Minister confirmed the weapons were found near one of the town's several synagogues, adding that no suspects or motives have yet been identified. France, home to Western Europe's largest Jewish population, has seen a sharp surge in antisemitism since October 7, 2023, This is the reality facing Jewish communities in Europe today.

The British government has announced more than £250 million ($335 million) in funding over three years to strengthen security for Jewish communities across the UK, following a surge in antisemitic attacks and arson targeting Jewish sites. The package includes 500 additional police officers across England and Wales, with 300 officers dedicated to London and 80 to Greater Manchester. Funding also covers expanded counterterrorism resources and security at synagogues, schools, and community centers. The announcement follows the Community Security Trust recording approximately 3,700 antisemitic incidents in 2025, one of the highest totals ever recorded in Britain. No Jewish community should need this level of protection to simply live their lives. And yet, here we are.

On Sunday, 120 years to the day after French Captain Alfred Dreyfus was exonerated, a statue in his honor was installed at its permanent home outside the Cour de Cassation in Paris - the very court that cleared his name. Dreyfus, a Jewish French army officer falsely accused of treason in 1894, became a symbol of institutional antisemitism - and his story profoundly shaped Theodor Herzl, who witnessed the public hatred firsthand and went on to found modern Zionism. Justice was a long time coming. But it came.
