Next week I am excited to announce that I will be speaking at AI 2030's Chicago AI Week, on a panel called, "No Margin for Error: AI in Financial Services at Scale." We will discuss how we help our firms, clients, and customers safely run AI systems at scale while meeting governance standards. We will discuss four areas: - Governance: the principles, practices, and frameworks that hold up under examination, anchored to the NIST AI RMF and, in model risk contexts, SR 11-7 (and, yes, it's still important!). - Policy and regulation: what is settled, what is still contested, and how to act sensibly while parts of the guidance remain unwritten. - Operationalizing best practices: moving from principles to systems that perform in production and survive review. - Real-world stakes: what changes as these models move from advising a human to acting on their own. I am looking forward to hearing what my co-panelists have to say on the subject. I'm honored to be speaking with Sandeep Maira of Accenture, Dhruv Baronia, CFA of Northern Trust, and Shanthi Gudavalli of JPMorganChase, with Archana Lamoureux of Northwestern Mutual moderating our panel.
