Employees who receive clear communication about their organization's AI strategy are nearly twice as likely to embrace agentic AI in their role. According to EY's Agentic AI Workplace Survey, clear communication increases familiarity with agentic AI from 46% to 74%, while the share of employees eager to embrace it rises from 39% to 66%. AI adoption doesn't begin when employees log into a new tool. It begins when leadership explains why AI matters, how work will change, and what success looks like. Technology can enable transformation, but communication is what gets people to embrace it.

AI adoption metrics are easy to celebrate. But they rarely tell you whether your workforce is becoming more capable. An employee logging into an AI tool every day doesn't necessarily mean they're building the skills needed to solve more complex problems or adapt as AI evolves. That's the gap many organizations are missing. Leading companies are shifting their focus from AI activity to AI capability by asking questions like: • Which AI-related skills are improving? • Where are the biggest capability gaps? • Who's ready for more advanced work? • Which learning initiatives are actually driving measurable growth? The organizations that gain a competitive advantage won't be the ones with the highest AI usage. They'll be the ones who can prove their workforce is building the skills that matter.

88% of employees now use AI at work, but only 28% of organizations are turning that activity into meaningful business outcomes. One reason? Many AI business cases only account for the obvious costs: models, subscriptions, and infrastructure. But as this framework from EY shows, the highest costs often sit below the budget line. Governance, change management, compliance, and recovery planning can determine whether an AI initiative scales or stalls. The organizations that generate lasting AI ROI won't just invest in the technology. They'll invest in the operating model needed to support it. Didn't have a chance to read our latest newsletter? Most AI business cases calculate the cost of the model. Far fewer calculate the cost of operating the system around it. As organizations move from chatbots to autonomous agents, the conversation needs to shift from token pricing to workforce readiness, governance, and long-term business value. This week's SkillSight explores why the next generation of AI leaders won't just optimize models. They'll optimize the operating model that makes those models successful. ⤵︎

Too many companies are using chatbots as a barrier between customers and real support. The best AI experiences don't replace human connection. They make it faster, smarter, and easier to deliver. Watch the full discussion: https://lnkd.in/gbDcTVVY
