We recently took our ocean energy prototype out to our first paying customer -- SHIKAT BAY OYSTERS, INC. in Naukati Bay, Alaska. Remote coastal regions like this rely heavily on diesel for power. At the same time, some of the strongest tidal currents in North America flow right past them everyday. We're working to capture that energy and turn it into something useful. This was our first time putting our device in front of a real customer in the field. More to come soon. https://lnkd.in/gm5zAp_y

We are happy to welcome Elena Ryan to the team at Sitkana! Elena is a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) bringing fresh energy and strong engineering fundamentals to our work in ocean energy. Elena has passion for marine energy & experience installing renewable energy systems in underserved regions. She is already contributing meaningfully by modeling the underwater forces acting on our hydrokinetic generator across a variety of flow conditions. Her early work is helping guide important design decisions. We are excited to have her on board as we continue advancing marine renewable energy!
