    Most enterprise physical security programs were built around a simple premise: cameras, NVRs, and access control systems are low-value targets. That premise is being stress-tested in real time. The same period: NVRs and IP cameras ranked among the riskiest connected devices in enterprise environments. The three barriers that made physical security devices deprioritized targets (niche codebases, unclear lateral movement paths, high attack cost) have each been systematically addressed by AI-powered tooling. ⚡ AI systems now generate working CVE exploits in 10 to 15 minutes at approximately $1 per attempt.     73% of enterprise physical security teams say their preferred future state is direct, in-house device management, according to the SecuriThings 2026 Physical Security Trends Report. That's a near-unanimous signal from the industry. Most are operating a model they didn't choose and don't want to keep. Third-party reliance for device remediation wasn't a strategic decision for most. It was the path of least resistance in environments where managing diverse devices at enterprise scale required external support by default. The desire to change that is consistent.
