Faculty of Arts Orientation 2025: An Eventful Start to the New Academic Year! In the last week of August, the Psychology Students’ Association had the opportunity to welcome first-year students into the exciting world of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University! 🧠💙 🌊 Faculty of Arts Orientation was hosted by the Society of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities - SASSH with the theme ‘Atlantis Awaits.’ PSA’s spin on the theme was ‘Dive Into the Mind!’ Our team had the pleasure of welcoming and registering students at Academic Orientation. Later that day, the PSA joined a presentation hosted by the Department of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where we shared our mission, goals and plans for the year. As the week continued, the PSA was excited to participate in the Course Union and Student Group Street. At this event, we invited students to fill out their goals for the year and to envision what a successful year might look like. We also handed out psychology-themed prizes and hosted a giveaway, with our merchandise. It was incredible to see all the new students and to show them what we have to offer – including an open First Year Representative position for anyone looking to ‘dive in’ and get involved. 👀 A big thank you to SASSH, our passionate and hardworking PSA team, our sponsors, and all the people who made this event possible. We're looking forward to building a strong, supportive community this year!

  • “We are close, we are safe, we share a future.” This year’s Student Group Leadership Conference (SGLC) was organized by the course union and student group leaders under the Society of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (SASSH). Through presentations and activities focused on teamwork, leadership, professional communication, funding, and event planning, participants acquired the tools to thrive as Arts Leaders of Today, prepared to lead with inclusivity, creativity, and purpose. ✨Key Takeaways: - Collaboration and open communication lead to stronger teams - Effective leaders empower, listen, and plan with purpose - Make inclusivity, diversity, accessibility, and equity the foundation of student leadership - Strong planning and storytelling make events impactful A huge thank you to everyone who helped out and made this event possible! As well as a huge thank you to all the course unions for their thoughtful presentations and planning contributions throughout the conference. Here’s to building stronger teams, leading with empathy, and turning ideas into action. 💡 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📲 Stay connected with us: Instagram/TikTok/Youtube: @sasshonline #CreatetoChange #Leadership #SASSH #FacultyofArts
