Our February product update brings improvements across compliance, accounting integrations, and core pay experiences. First, we’ve updated our engine to support new PFML “pick-up” taxation requirements effective January 1, 2026. When employers cover an employee’s PFML premium, those contributions are now treated as taxable income – and Salsa handles this automatically out of the box. As regulations evolve, partners don’t have to slow down to keep up. We’ve also expanded accounting flexibility beyond QuickBooks. Employers and developers can now access raw payroll journal entries via CSV or API, with control over when entries are generated and webhooks to automate downstream workflows. The result: faster time-to-market for custom accounting integrations and a stronger foundation for embedded finance. Finally, employers can now add memos directly to worker payments. Notes flow through to paystubs and printed checks, reducing confusion around off-cycle runs and one-time payments while making payroll feel more complete. Each of these updates is designed to reduce operational lift and give platforms more control – so you can build payroll products that scale with your customers. → Read the full update: https://lnkd.in/ecWRVYes → Talk to our team: https://lnkd.in/eizTUZij #EmbeddedPayroll #Fintech #SaaS #B2B #DeveloperExperience #PayrollProducts

At Salsa, we’re building payroll infrastructure that adapts to the way your customers work. This month’s updates make that even easier. We’ve launched a streamlined onboarding experience for contractor-only businesses, allowing 1099-first teams to skip irrelevant W-2 steps and move faster to first payout. No extra logic, no added complexity – just clean, intuitive setup that matches how these businesses operate. We’ve also introduced Embedded MFA, giving partners tighter control over sensitive payroll actions like bank account changes or access to PII. It’s an opt-in, flexible security layer built for embedded platforms – stronger protection where it counts, without slowing things down. And because onboarding is one of the most fragile parts of the payroll journey, partners can now embed their own help center content directly into key steps and dashboards – guiding employers in their own voice, right when questions arise. Finally, employers will now be automatically notified when Salsa updates their rate based on direct agency data. One less thing for partners to worry about – and an important way to build trust at scale. These updates are about control, clarity, and making payroll feel like a natural part of your platform. Let’s keep building infrastructure that moves with your product. → Read the full update: https://lnkd.in/eAShM5Xa → Talk to our team: https://lnkd.in/eQdDPiAJ #EmbeddedPayroll #Fintech #SaaS #DeveloperExperience #B2B #APIs #PayrollProducts

Payroll infrastructure shouldn’t box you in. It should scale with you. Legacy providers and other embedded solutions often force you into a choice: rigid, off-the-shelf payroll products or heavy, all-or-nothing integrations. Neither gives you the control modern platforms need. That’s why we built Salsa differently. Think of it like Lego blocks for payroll – modular components you can snap together, rearrange, or build on top of. Use only what you need, skip what you don’t, and evolve as your product grows. Whether it’s onboarding, taxes, or benefits, each block works independently or as part of a broader system – always on your terms. And behind every block is a foundation of compliance, reliability, and performance so you never have to trade flexibility for confidence. If you’re building the future of work, you shouldn’t have to compromise on how people get paid. With Salsa, you don’t have to. If you’re starting to explore what embedded payroll could look like in 2026, we’d love to be part of that conversation - now or next year.
