This recognition highlights our involvement in the open process automation ecosystem and the expertise of our team. EAE is built on the IEC 61499 standard, representing a fundamental shift in industrial automation design and delivery: - Applications are no longer tied to specific controllers. - The application itself becomes the primary asset—portable, modular, and capable of running wherever it is most effective. For those who have spent years with traditional PLC or DCS architectures based on IEC 61131-3, where applications are tightly coupled to specific hardware and vendor ecosystems, this marks a meaningful transition away from vendor lock-in toward hardware-independent, portable applications: - Control is no longer hardware-centric. - Software becomes reusable across platforms. - Systems are more flexible, scalable, and future-ready. This aligns with the broader open automation movement and initiatives like UniversalAutomation.org, which aim for vendor-agnostic control.
