Serving Seniors used to plot every route by hand, on a giant paper map of San Diego. Now the routes build themselves. Since 1970, it's grown into the county's largest provider of meals to low-income and unhoused seniors, about 20,000 a week, on a fleet of 30 vans. The hand-drawn map could only cover so much ground, leaving people who needed meals just beyond its reach. That changed when Serving Seniors connected its fleet with Samsara and and added Route4Me's Last Mile Operating System for the routing.
