  • Becky said it perfectly. It's easy to see a work order number and an ETA and miss everything happening behind it - the calls, the reroutes, the parts chased down. To our Client Managers, Coordinators, and Operations team: thank you for keeping your cool while keeping our customers cool. That's what sets this team apart!

Cooling season is no joke!!! Please remember that the team at RMS is made up of many, many HUMANS! 🤪 When stores get hot or systems fail, it can be easy to only see a work order number or an ETA. What we don't always see are the incredibly devoted people behind the scenes making hundreds of decisions every day to get stores back up and running. To our Client Managers, Coordinators, Operations team, and leaders at Retail Mechanical Services (RMS)... thank you. Thank you for answering the phone when emotions are running high. Thank you for staying calm when priorities change by the minute. Thank you for chasing technicians, tracking parts, communicating updates, solving problems, pushing for quicker turnaround times, and caring about every customer as if it were your own business. I know it's not always easy to smile through it all and keep a cool head, but you do it so well. You stay focused on the end result, and that's something to be truly proud of. This time of year, everyone wants the same thing: comfortable stores, happy employees, and customers who can shop and dine without worrying about the temperature. We want that too. Every single day. Behind every email, phone call, and status update is a person doing everything they can to help. Facility managers, service coordinators, client managers, technicians—we're all on the same team, working toward the same goal: keeping everyone cool. 😎 I'm incredibly proud of the RMS team. Your professionalism, grit, honesty, loyalty, heart, and level-headedness never go unnoticed. • Some buildings are too big for a single rooftop unit to handle. That's where the chiller comes in. A chiller is a large piece of equipment that removes heat from water instead of air. Here's how it works: refrigerant inside the chiller absorbs heat from the water loop, a compressor pressurizes that refrigerant into a hot gas, and the heat is released outside. The now-cooled water gets pumped through the building to cool the air. You'll typically find chillers in large-scale commercial spaces, big-box retail, hospitals, and multi-story buildings, where a standard rooftop unit isn't enough to condition the whole space. RMS services and maintains chiller systems as part of keeping large commercial buildings running the way they should. • 🔧 Know the difference between a repair and a CAPEX project? CAPEX covers major equipment replacements and upgrades that extend the life of your systems. Not day-to-day fixes. And when it comes to HVAC, that distinction matters. Commercial HVAC systems have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. When repairs start stacking up and efficiency starts dropping, replacement is the smarter call. Planning ahead means no financial surprises. Waiting until it fails means scrambling. RMS manages HVAC CAPEX projects from quote to completion. Replacements, major repairs, and programmatic rollouts across multiple locations. Brand agnostic. Precision-focused. One point of contact. Trane, Lennox, Carrier, York — we work with them all. 💪 Ready to plan your next upgrade? Let's talk. https://lnkd.in/g4h2h7yV #HVAC #CAPEXProjects #FacilityMaintenance #RetailMechanical

  • Did you know your building's comfort depends on two systems working together around the clock? 🤔 And most people have no idea what they're called or what they do. Good thing RMS knows them by heart: 🔥 Condenser — the outdoor unit that releases heat so cooled air can flow inside ❄️ Air Handler — the indoor unit that moves conditioned air through your duct system 🔗 Split System — when these two work together, that's a split system: one inside, one out, one job Understanding what you have is the first step to protecting it. RMS keeps these systems running reliably — before a breakdown becomes a disruption. For more information visit retailmechanical.com

  • When a system goes down, the last thing you need is a communication gap. For multi-site organizations, fast mechanical service depends on platforms that keep everyone on the same page. That's why RMS integrates with the tools your team already relies on, including Corrigo, Fexa, ServiceChannel, OfficeTrax, FM Pilot, OpenWrench, Salesforce, and NEST. Work orders move through your existing workflows, your team stays informed, and nothing falls through the cracks. • How do you know when it's time to replace an HVAC or refrigeration asset? It's a balancing act. Replace too early and you leave useful life on the table. Wait too long and you're dealing with emergency repairs, operational disruption, and costs you didn't plan for. The good news? There are usually warning signs. In our latest blog, we break down the key factors RMS considers when helping clients make smarter repair-versus-replace decisions and build a replacement strategy before systems fail. Because the best replacement decisions happen before the equipment makes the decision for you. • The biggest safety risks in your facility may not be on your safety checklist. During #NationalSafetyMonth, it's worth taking a closer look at the systems that help keep your facility safe, compliant, and operational every day. A few questions worth asking: ✓ Are rooftop access points secure and compliant? ✓ Have emergency shutoffs been inspected recently? ✓ Are HVAC and refrigeration assets receiving scheduled maintenance? ✓ Are refrigerant records and compliance documentation up to date? ✓ Have aging systems been identified before they become larger operational or safety risks? Safety isn't always about reacting to incidents. Often, it's about identifying small issues before they become bigger problems. A mid-year review can go a long way toward keeping facilities safe, compliant, and operational through the busiest months of the year. • Recent EPA updates around refrigerant regulations are adding another layer to an HVAC industry already navigating A2L transitions, retrofit requirements, and changing compliance standards. For facility teams, this impacts more than just equipment selection. It can affect: • Replacement planning • Retrofit scope • Technician training • Inspection requirements • Long-term maintenance strategies One thing is clear: Regulations may shift, but the industry still needs to prepare. • Commercial HVAC systems often show signs of trouble before a major breakdown happens. Maybe one area of the store never cools properly. Energy bills start creeping up. Employees complain about hot spots. What starts as a small issue can quickly turn into an emergency call, lost sales, uncomfortable customers, and expensive downtime, especially during peak season. Our latest blog breaks down the most common commercial HVAC failure points and the warning signs facility teams should never ignore: https://lnkd.in/g5Bhd6J7 #CommercialHVAC #FacilityManagement #PreventativeMaintenance #RetailFacilities #MechanicalServices
