Meeting Robin has made a big difference to our business. The design and building of the website has just been the start of our business relationship though. I've made a lot of investments for my business. The green screen is by far the best one. Back in 2005, Resolution started primarily as a media company. At the time, we were delivering a high volume of TV ads, so we decided to invest in a green screen at our Scunthorpe offices. And we went all in. - Multiple 4K cameras - A 2,000 sq ft green room - Professional lighting setup - Teleprompter and equipment - A full control room for cameras, lighting and autocue What we didn't expect was how much we'd use it for our health and safety work. When we built our first digital health and safety induction system for a major port authority, they also asked us to create their site induction videos. So we used the green screen to film induction videos that simulated real-life presentations. But with far more consistency and professionalism. Since then, it's become a staple of our digital induction offering. Resolution can handle everything: The induction software, the onsite hardware AND top-tier videos. All thanks to the green screen. Most organisations can tick off the basics of a safety management system. The Health and Safety Executive sets out 5: - Policy - Risk assessment - Monitoring performance - Investigating incidents - Consulting workers I recently came across an IOSH article that makes a sharp point about this list. Having the 5 basics in place isn't the hard part. It's the questions that come after that trip organisations up: 💬 Are we doing this well, or just doing it? 💬 Are we actually improving, or just staying still? IOSH's answer is that this comes down to competency, clear standards and knowing where you actually stand. In my experience, this is where it gets difficult. Not because the basics are missing, but because the evidence to answer those questions is scattered. Some documentation in one system, some in folders and inboxes, some in paper stuffed in a drawer somewhere. Nothing joined up enough to actually sit down and review.
