There's something special about coming together to listen, learn and celebrate and that's exactly what NAIDOC Week is all about. Across the country, our teams took the opportunity to connect with and learn from First Nations cultures and communities. At The Works, women came together for a weaving workshop led by proud Wadawurrung artist Alisha Fagan in partnership with The Torch. It was a powerful morning of learning and connection. At our Melbourne Distribution Centre, the team shared a coffee and a yarn with First Nations owned Game Time Coffee. And at our Distribution Centre in Brisbane, we were honoured to be welcomed to Country by Aunty Kathryn Fisher of the Turrbal People. The day also featured a powerful Didgeridoo performance by Murridjarn and a performance by the Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dance Company. These moments matter. They create space for our people to learn, reflect and build a deeper understanding of First Nations cultures, histories and achievements.

The final event of our national Meet the Maker series took place in Fortitude Valley, turning the spotlight to craftsmanship in its most tactile form. Bobby Gordon, Director of Robert Gordon Australia spoke to Brisbane’s A&D community about the process behind each piece, from sourcing Australian clay and shaping form, through to the textures, glazes and finishes that bring every creation to life. With Robert Gordon, the conversation moved into the finer details that make a piece feel alive; the touch of the maker, the movement of glaze, the natural variation that give each ceramic piece its own unique character. For the discerning designer’s eye, these details matter. They shape the way a space is experienced, influencing how materials interact and come together with intention, warmth and permanence. Joined by Sussex Taps and Zuster Furniture, the evening concluded a remarkable series celebrating the very best of Australian craftsmanship - and the makers, innovators and visionaries continuing to shape the future of Australian design.

Get involved in the Reece Foundation bushfire recovery project After the January bushfires in Victoria, many households across regional communities are still without safe, reliable water. Re-establishing supply is one of the first steps in helping people to start the rebuild process. From late July through to December, the Reece Foundation is teaming up with local Bushfire Recovery Teams to supply and install rainwater tanks for those impacted across Australia. Design conversations took centre stage at our Meet the Maker session in Bundall, where the Gold Coast A&D community connected with Sussex Taps, Zuster Furniture and Robert Gordon Australia. With Sussex in focus, the conversation moved beyond the product to how it is made. Designed and manufactured entirely in Melbourne, Vanessa Katsanevakis and Loren Inglis shared how materials are selected, finished and brought together through a fully integrated process, from their own foundry through to final detailing. Handling samples and exploring the range firsthand, guests unpacked the decisions behind each piece, from finish selection through to customisation, and how those choices resolve within a space. What came through strongly is how that level of control shapes the end result. Consistency across finishes, durability over time and the ability to tailor products to suit a project all play a role when it comes to specifying with confidence. It's these conversations that define Meet the Maker, connecting design intent with the process and people behind it.

Our Meet the Maker series continues at Bathroom Life Richmond, bringing Melbourne's Architecture & Design community face to face with the masters behind the pinnacle of Australian manufacturing.   This week, we're shining a light on Zuster Furniture, one of the makers who joined us on the night alongside Sussex Taps and Robert Gordon Australia.   Melbourne-based and locally made, Zuster is built on a deep family heritage in design and craftsmanship. Founded by sisters Wilhelmina McCarroll & Fleur Sibbel, everything centres on crafted, considered pieces designed to endure the test of time.   On the night, Fleur and Chloe Sibbel took us inside the process - from timber selection and handcrafted detailing right through to customisation and adorned finishes. The conversation stayed where it matters most; the real decisions that shape a space, from early design through to final installation.   That's what Meet the Maker is about - keeping the conversation design-led, dynamic as well as grounded, and connected to the craft behind the product.   We’re thrilled to bring the series to Queensland in the coming week, stay tuned!

Reece Irrigation & Pools were proud to be part of the 30th Aqua Technics Dealer Conference in Tasmania. A highlight at this years conference was celebrating 50 years of Aquatic Leisure Technologies. A milestone like that speaks to the strength of the industry and the partnerships behind it. Great to see Adam Hussey and Brenton Lewis there representing the team and connecting with partners across the network. Congratulations to Lew Beale, Lynley Papineau, Darren Godden and everyone at ALT on an incredible 50 years.

Reece HVAC and Actrol at ARBS 2026 ARBS brought together customers, suppliers and teams from across the HVAC‑R industry in Melbourne, with plenty of time spent getting into the detail of what matters on site. Across Reece HVAC and Actrol, the focus was simple: real solutions that support the work happening on site. From air conditioning and mechanical services through to refrigeration innovation, it was about showing how products, technical know-how and practical applications come together to get the job done. ARBS remains an important checkpoint for the industry. A chance to understand what is changing, what customers are asking for, and where things are heading next. Here is a quick look at the week.
