🤝 Meet Dr Steve Landers, Radiologist At RADIUS Imaging, we're proud to have specialists who are helping advance patient care through innovation and expertise. Dr Steve Landers is a highly experienced Radiologist with a special interest in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments. He is recognised as a pioneer of geniculate artery embolisation (GAE) in Australia, offering new treatment options for patients living with chronic knee pain associated with osteoarthritis. After completing his radiology training in Geelong, Dr Landers undertook advanced fellowships at McMaster University in Canada and NYU Langone Medical Centre in the United States. He has also played a key role in expanding interventional radiology services within the local healthcare community. June is National Spinal Health Month, an important initiative highlighting the significant impact spinal health has on mobility, function, and overall quality of life. 🤝 Get to Know Our Radiology Team: Dr Peter Lange Radiologist | RADIUS Imaging Dr Peter Lange brings an exceptional depth of international experience to the RADIUS Imaging team, with a career spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. Peter completed his medical degree at the University of Hamburg Medical School before undertaking his radiology training in the United Kingdom at St James’s University Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary. He went on to complete his MD in MRI and was appointed Chairman of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, managed by Cleveland Clinic. Since relocating to regional Australia in 2011, Peter has been an integral part of the medical imaging community and joined the RADIUS Imaging team in 2020. Last Thursday, we were proud to host members of the Geelong medical community at Radius Imaging in Waurn Ponds for the launch of our new Cardiac CT service. The evening was hosted by Radiologist Dr Matthew Morey, with support from Dr Ian Revfem, and featured engaging discussions on cardiac CT, calcium scoring, and CT coronary angiography. We were also pleased to hear from A/Prof Stephan Foy, who presented real clinical cases highlighting the value of advanced cardiac imaging in everyday practice. A key milestone for the region is the introduction of Victoria’s first out-of-hospital Siemens SOMATOM Pro.Pulse Dual Source CT, from Siemens Healthineers. This advanced technology expands access to CT Coronary Angiography and Coronary Calcium Scoring, supporting earlier and more accurate diagnosis. Following the presentations, guests enjoyed a tour of the practice and a closer look at the new CT system. This National Heart Week, we’re encouraging our community to prioritise heart health. RADIUS Imaging staff recently participated in a hands-on CPR training session at Waurn Ponds, strengthening their confidence and capability in emergency response across the Geelong region. The session focused on refreshing Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, with practical training in CPR techniques and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). These essential, real-world skills ensure our team is prepared to respond effectively when every second counts. It was a valuable opportunity for learning, collaboration, and skill development, reinforcing our shared commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. At RADIUS Imaging, ongoing training and professional development remain central to maintaining excellence in service and supporting better patient outcomes throughout the Geelong region.
