About us

Great wealth management starts with a simple question: what matters most to you? At PWL Capital, we're a national independent wealth management firm serving families across Canada. We take time to understand your priorities, your concerns, and your vision for the future. Then we build a plan around your goals, not around products we need to sell. • Saving for a down payment? Where you put that money depends on one thing: how certain your timeline is. Know exactly when you'll need the cash? GICs that match that date are the safer bet. Timeline more flexible? You can afford to take on more risk with equities, especially if you're happy renting a bit longer. One of our advisors did exactly this. Stayed fully invested in equities while house hunting, only pulled the down payment once they found the place. Not GICs vs stocks. It's how fixed your goal is. Want a plan built around your timeline? Contact us: https://lnkd.in/eMUrsWZU - Vous épargnez pour un apport personnel? Congratulations to IAFP® member Louai Bibi, CFP®, CIM®, R.F.P.®, on being named the 2026 National Financial Planning Awards winner! Louai's award-winning financial plan demonstrated the depth of thinking that exceptional planning requires, balancing technical complexity with the human realities behind every financial decision. His case challenged him to navigate corporate planning, tax considerations, property holdings, and, ultimately, a family's changing priorities as they adapted to the unique care needs of their son. His work is a reminder that the most effective financial plans aren't defined by numbers alone. They are built on understanding the people behind them. We are proud to celebrate Louai's achievement and recognize him as an outstanding example of the professionalism, technical excellence, and client-first approach that the R.F.P.® designation represents. Congratulations, Louai!

It’s official! Louai Bibi, CFP®, CIM®, R.F.P. is the winner of the 2026 National Financial Planning Awards. Louai presented a case study that was both complex and intimate. It was the story of a high-income couple with important careers, property holdings, and corporate tax considerations in the mix … … before finally hitting a point where they need to rebalance their high-stress life to meet the unique care needs (and fleeting childhoods) of their daughters. “Personal finance is personal,” says Louai, an Ottawa-based financial planner, who works as a Wealth Advisor and Associate Portfolio Manager with PWL Capital. “There’s always research and evidence and data that we can lean on, but at the end of the day, people have to feel that everything will be OK.” By speaking to both the head and the heart, and presenting a plan that went the extra mile, Louai’s work stood out to win the 2026 NFPAs 🏆 Please join us in congratulating Louai Bibi, CFP®, CIM®, R.F.P., thanking our sponsors, and applauding all of this year’s competitors. "PWL and the industry, we haven't always taken the same path." That's how Brenda Bartlett opens up about her nearly 40 year career in our latest interview. She talks about leaving big bank life for something messier and more entrepreneurial, learning the hard way that you can move a giant institution two inches to the left, but it might take two years. From there to building PWL into what it is today. Lisez l'entrevue complete: https://lnkd.in/e8bFgG5C

  • One partner wants to travel. The other wants to put every extra dollar toward the house. It's easy for that conversation to turn into who's being "responsible" and who's not. But as Shannon Lee Simmons points out, that's often not what's happening. More often, it's two people with different values trying to make decisions together. A good financial planner doesn't decide who's right. They help couples understand those differences, make tradeoffs, and build a plan they can both live with. That's advice that goes well beyond investment returns. Watch the full conversation with Shannon Lee Simmons in Episode 415 of the Rational Reminder Podcast: https://lnkd.in/eDt6VfPB - L'un des partenaires souhaite voyager.
