🎉 To celebrate the 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗩 𝗖𝗬𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺, we're sharing a series of testimonials from the people who have helped shape our organisation. We start with Dirk Rutten, Secretary General of ELOYA, who reflects on the origins of 𝗣𝗩 𝗖𝗬𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺. Ten years ago, Eloya was looking for a reliable, compliant solution for the collection and recycling of end-of-life solar panels. That search led to the creation of PV CYCLE Belgium. 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 — 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. It was a pleasure to see this topic discussed at #Intersolar Europe during the panel “Sustainability matters in PV”, where our Managing Director, Jan Clyncke, shared several important perspectives on the challenges and opportunities ahead for our sector. If there was one message worth emphasising, it was that 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗩 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗼-𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆. But as Jan also underlined, sustainability in solar goes well beyond end-of-life considerations. It also means navigating the growing complexity of EU policy, and finding the right balance between 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 — because a truly sustainable PV ecosystem must be designed for both circularity and long-term performance. 📢 PV CYCLE’s 2025 Annual Reports are now online! 🌍 2025 was a landmark year for PV CYCLE, with 31,335 tonnes of waste processed at Group level, including 24,331 tonnes of PV waste and 7,004 tonnes of batteries and other WEEE in Italy. 🏛️ The year was also marked by continued work on the revision of European EPR legislation, with PV CYCLE advocating for rules that reflect the specific nature of photovoltaic panels.
