We’re excited to announce that Friends From Elsewhere will take place on March 14 at 7:30 PM at The Elysium during SXSW 2026. 👏 The showcase will be open to SXSW badge and wristband holders on a first-come, first-served basis. The Friends From Elsewhere showcase marks the third consecutive year PreCrast has presented a showcase at SXSW. After two successful years under the Friends From the East banner in 2024 and 2025, the 2026 edition represents the platform’s next evolution — transitioning to Friends From Elsewhere to reflect a broader vision of global cultural exchange and international artist discovery. This year’s lineup features A Wordless Orange, eldon, Frankfurt Helmet, FINDLANDS, Magnolian, KID PHENOMENON, and Posavant, bringing together artists from China, Korea, Japan, Mongolia, and the United States, highlighting the event’s continued focus on global collaboration and cultural exchange. One of PreCrast’s core focuses as an artist service label and incubator is bringing international talent into China’s live music market. As part of the Sound Summer family—best known for curating MTA Festival (one of China’s largest international music festivals) and producing tours under Elec Girl and MTA Presents—our team has been involved in organizing China tours for artists such as Ivoris, 347aidan, tobi lou, and Zella Day, among many others. While our focus is building cross-border touring IPs, our team also brings deep festival experience in Asia. Through our parent company Sound Summer, we have curated and produced the MTA Festival in China for nearly a decade — one of the country’s largest music festivals featuring international artists. Moving forward, we aim to expand Friends From the East by bringing more Eastern artists on tour, building global stages that connect music, culture, and community.
