That's twice I get to use "1 million!!" in a week. First with the number of copies sold for The Spell Brigade, and now for the wishlist count of Dead As Disco! From my love for supporting Belgian-made indies to my favourite genre in games: rhythm & music based! Dead As Disco was pretty much my dream game to work on as soon as I discovered the demo, and now I get to live that dream. here is our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/ei_8A8ZW Dead As Disco is releasing in Early Access next week on May 5th and it's been such a wild ride already. from an Exclusive boss reveal with IGN: https://lnkd.in/eE9WjcdJ straight into another boss exclusive with Gamespot the next day: https://lnkd.in/evy9PTZP Then we revealed the release date during The Triple-i Initiative https://lnkd.in/eWspzJPa and had a post-show interview with Easy Allies (been such a fan of their channel for years!) https://lnkd.in/e-4m6vD9 We started sending out preview codes shortly after, with the first two bosses playable and the feedback has been nothing short of fantastic! "Dead As Disco feels a lot like a playable action sequence, something closer to John Wick than a traditional rhythm game. It all feels like choreography. There’s a flow state the game taps into. You’re never fighting the rhythm, you’re riding it." - TheGamer https://lnkd.in/eKSxqREZ "Dead as Disco is easily one of the best indie games I've ever played." - TechRadar https://lnkd.in/eiuT7K_9 "This beat-based beat ’em up has real potential. Timing your attacks to the beat of the music feels immediately satisfying, blending performance and combat into one stylish loop." - INSIDER GAMING GROUP https://lnkd.in/e4aN5ZDq and that's just a small sampling from the press! Creators loved it as well with both MoistCr1tikal and Maximilian Dood already singing its praises! Speaking of which, you may want to keep your eyes on Max's channel for yet another exclusive boss reveal... and shortly after PC Gamer will have a surprise for everyone as well! Go check out the demo on Steam now and add your own wishlist to that million! and next week you get to be blown away by the simply stunning boss fights, they are a pure work of art, each and every one of them!! thanks again to Will Cook & Adam Gershowitz for the trust put in me, and allowing me to be a part of this! 🎵 dancy dancy party party! la la la lalalalaa! 🎵

1.000.000 units sold in Early Access. Too good not to say it twice 😊 The Spell Brigade hitting this milestone before 1.0 even launched is something we couldn't have done alone: ne dikke merci (a huge thank you!) to our awesome partners and collaborators who helped us get here! Flanders Game Hub, Flemish Games Association, FIT - Flanders Investment & Trade, Huqiao Games, Pirate PR, Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds, Wisemen 🙌👏 🤝

I don't usually reach out to potential clients myself and have found myself in the luxury position where indies contact me with work (I receive about 5-6 pitches per week) but last year, I played the demo for Dead As Disco and instantly fell in love. I'm a huge fan of Rhythm games (though I tend to suck at them and play them on easy/normal 😅) and this one felt special from the first minute. This was pretty much my dream game to work on this year. So despite feeling like I was out of my league, I wanted to shoot my shot and reached out to Will Cook and Adam Gershowitz from Brain Jar Games a few months later, and here we are with back to back IGN Entertainment and GameSpot videos, and an upcoming announcement in The Triple-i Initiative showcase + a lot of cool things lined up I can't quite share yet. Super excited for what's to come and feeling so grateful I get to work on this awesome game. Want to see it in action? have a look: IGN's Hemlock Boss Fight: https://lnkd.in/eq62yX8M Gamespot's Arora Boss Fight: https://lnkd.in/ev4_2iMV any press & creators who want in on this, you know where to find me 😊 Hope you will all watch The Triple-i Showcase! 👀

I am incredibly proud to share that BARKOUR has been featured in the Jan/Feb issue of DEBUG magazine! At a time when physical gaming media is becoming increasingly rare, seeing our game in print feels especially meaningful. It’s a reminder that thoughtful coverage and long-form storytelling about games still matter! :) Huge THANK YOU to the Debug and Robby Bisschop 🏴☠️ for the support and for taking the time to dive into what we’re building with BARKOUR. “If you’re looking to sniff out your next great adventure, Barkour is a silly, fast-paced stealth-action platformer where you play as Agent T.H.U.N.D.E.R. - a highly trained secret agent who just so happens to be a dog.” I couldn’t agree more! :) And to everyone who has been following, supporting and sharing me and our game along the way - it truly means a lot to me and my entire team VARSAV Game Studios S.A.

Happy new ye-arrr! 2025 was a wild year for Pirate PR, I'd need almost a full day just to recap all of our highlights. But I still want to make a toss at some of my favorite moments, and we also made a cool 2025 + 2026 Hype Reel to share: https://lnkd.in/euBPh25X Some of my favourite things about 2025: - first time getting a cover on a magazine with OFF (by Mortis Ghost & Fangamer) gracing the front of Debug! An effort repeated shortly after by helping DELTARUNE on the cover as well 😁 and I Hate This Place (Feardemic & Rock Square Thunder) will be on the January edition! - The DEBUG awards happened in early 2025 and while I attended on behalf of our games (5 nominations!), I was blown away to also receive the award for Best Indie Marketing Campaign myself (for SCHiM) I also brought home two awards for clients: SCHiM (Extra Nice) won best art and Please, Touch The Artwork (Thomas Waterzooi) won the Free Play Award. - Spilled! made it on the cover of Patch Magazine! - and 4!! of our games made it into EDGE magazine's 2-page art showcase - I made a friend in Eugene (Voidmaw) and Discord reminded me he was the person I chatted the most with in 2025. Katanaut was an awesome game, with all of our trailers making it onto IGN Entertainment, helping him partner with PlayAcclaim and even having 2 real-life Katanas made as a promotional stunt! (look forward to a console release soon!) - Speaking of PlayAcclaim, in September we did the impossible. Reviving the brand with an awesome showcase that was co-hosted by IGN, Gamespot, GiantBomb and Future Games Show. I can't wait to share all thr cool games we have in store for you. Katanaut was just the beginning! - Ruffy and the Riverside (Zockrates Laboratories UG & Phiphen Studios) broke our previous PR records, with 3000+ logged pieces of coverage from ~1500 sent codes. Such a unique game that deserves even more love. - for the 2nd year in a row, we secured a 48h take-under on Steam for the Belgian Game Awards Steam Sale Page, highlighting the best locally made games! 🖤💛❤️ I could go on forever, talk about the Pirate PR Indie Game Colouring book, co-organising the Belgian Game Awards, the various talks & podcasts I was on last year and especiall the amazing games I had the honour and privilege to work on. But this is slowly turning into a book and I'd rather you get to spend your time playing games. but be sure to give the video a watch and a thumbs up, it would mean a lot. 2026 will be even greater!

a big evening full of awards, culminating in one I could accept myself on behalf of Mortis Ghost, who won the Audience Award for OFF. super proud of everything, from helping the Belgian Game Awards event (which was basically a Games Done Quick speedrun organised in less than 3 months start to finish) ... to the games I got to work on that were nominated or took home awards this year. I will always do everything within my power to help local games. and still can't believe that we also managed to pull off front page featuring on Steam two years in a row. see you all next year! long live belgian games 😊

I want to give a shout-out to the wonderful support team at Valve corporation! This is the second time I'm setting up a Steam Sale page for the Belgian Game Awards, and they are super helpful in the process of setting everything up! Here is the previous event (I know, I'm not the best designer, and the visual appeal of the event leaves room for improvement. Maybe one day we'll have a budget for some BGA branding) https://lnkd.in/ecg58hPg Scroll through it to discover some new Belgian games and keep an eye out for 4-12 December, which is when the new event will start! We'll even have a Take-Under for 48 hours on the Steam homepage in Belgium (9-11 December!) Super glad I got to be a part of the Belgian Game Awards since 2019. It's really one of the projects I care most deeply about. 🖤💛❤️

Nearly a week ago, I released my second game on Steam, Fading Serenades. I've received unanimously positive reviews from the press, influencers, and players on Steam, which is absolutely delightful to me. I never expected to be praised for this little game, especially considering this is just my first time doing serious press and marketing work and trying to reach out to others. All of which I couldn't have done without the help and guidance of the great Pirate PR! This past year, I've learnt and grown so, so much. While I had a good amount of software and game development experience beforehand, without which I couldn't have developed and finished this game in 8 months, there were still a lot of unknowns and a lot of first times for me. Doing this kind of work mostly solo is nothing short of an adventure, but one that I wouldn't want to trade for anything else right now. I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but there's no way but forward, eh? If you like cosy adventures in a retro pixel art format, you should probably check out Fading Serenades! https://lnkd.in/dTmPUJiA
