Inwoong Han, Senior Product Development Actuary, and Tae Su (Troy) Kim, Head of Medical Underwriting Solutions, recently shared insights from our latest consumer research into Korea's ageing and caregiving needs at the APAC L&H PULSE event in Seoul. One finding stood out: Korea's ageing challenge is shifting from protection to care. Despite already high insurance penetration, 50% of consumers with caregiving responsibilities show interest in long-term care solutions, highlighting a significant opportunity for insurers to expand their role beyond traditional protection. As people live longer and family care structures evolve, the need for care-focused solutions is becoming increasingly important. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to continuing the conversation. Emily Wu Ben Lu Mae Kim Inwoong Han Tae Su (Troy) Kim Hengchang Pan Hyangmi Park Jinwon Kim

We were proud to celebrate seven of our young professionals at Marsh Rising Professionals’ Forum 2026, connecting with peers from across the re/insurance industry. Under this year’s theme, “Rise to lead. Rise to solve”, the forum brought together industry voices to share insights on geopolitical disruption, emerging risks and innovation, climate change, energy transition and how the next generation of leaders can rise to the occasion. The event concluded with a memorable gala evening, offering a great opportunity to connect and enjoy after braving the heatwave. Insightful perspective from our colleague Marc Dominic Juhnke on the evolving dynamics of aviation insurance, featured by the IUAI in their #BlueSkyThinking series.
#BlueSkyThinking We caught up with Marc Dominic Juhnke, Senior Underwriter Aviation at PartnerRe and a member of the IUAI, to hear his thoughts on what makes aviation insurance such a dynamic and rewarding sector. Marc’s role at PartnerRe centers on understanding the complexities of aviation risk within a global market. He has developed a strong appreciation for the balance between technical underwriting expertise, market insight, and the relationships that underpin successful risk management. “Few industries combine innovation, global connectivity, and operational complexity in quite the same way as aviation. As underwriters, we are constantly learning, whether it’s understanding new technologies, evolving risk exposures, or changes in the way airlines and operators do business. What I value most about the IUAI is the opportunity to engage with experts from across the market, share perspectives, and contribute to discussions that help strengthen our industry as a whole.” Thank you, Marc, for the expertise, professionalism, and insights you bring to the IUAI community. 📩 Interested in contributing to IUAI’s work? The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an expanded indication for CASGEVY® (exagamglogene autotemcel), making the CRISPR-based gene therapy available to children as young as 2 years of age with sickle cell disease (SCD) with recurrent vaso-occlusive crises (VOCs) and transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia (TDT). Casgevy was previously approved for the treatment of patients aged 12 years and older with SCD with recurrent VOCs or TDT. This expansion significantly broadens access to one of the first commercially available gene-editing therapies for these rare inherited blood disorders. PULSE Insights: ✅ Financial Impact: Moderate to High. Total episode can exceed $3M (WAC $2.2M plus 4–6-week+ IP stay). ✅ Expected Utilization: Low initially, but expected to gradually increase as an additional 5,500 children become eligible in the U.S. and more authorized treatment centers gain experience. ✅ PULSE Services: Gene therapy contracting and coordination of the complete gene therapy episode to help optimize outcomes and manage financial risk. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just announced the approval of TREGZI™, the first and only cell therapy for allogeneic transplant in adults with hematological malignancies. This approval reflects the ongoing evolution of cell therapy, with innovation extending beyond disease treatment to improving transplant outcomes. PULSE Insights: ✅ Financial Impact: Moderate as it increases upfront cost of Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant but potentially reduces costly downstream complications such as graft-versus-host disease. ✅ Expected Utilization: Low initially; likely to grow at experienced transplant centers. ✅ PULSE Services: Early transplant referral, network optimization, contract placement, and coordination of the transplant episode. Learn more about this therapy and its implications: https://lnkd.in/e-JgTbGM #celltherapy #transplant
