A Shared Vision: Male Contraception Matters to Physicians, Men, and Women At NEXT Life Sciences, we’re proud to be building on the foundation laid by Elaine Lissner and the Parsemus Foundation. And with Plan A™ for Men in Phase II clinical trials, we’re excited that we’ll be bringing our shared vision to the global market. We’re thanking Elaine and the Parsemus Foundation for their decades-long commitment to advancing male contraception. Through persistence, advocacy, and early investment, the Parsemus Foundation developed the science behind Vasalgel®, which has become NEXT Life Science’s Plan A™, a long-acting, reversible on-demand, non-hormonal male contraceptive. Elaine and the Parsemus Foundation saw what others didn’t. That expanding contraceptive options for men is essential to true reproductive equality, something valued by physicians, men, and women. In fact, the pent-up demand we see today is overwhelming as we work to fill a gap that has existed for more than 5 decades. Here’s why I’m asking you to support women’s health this Giving Tuesday... Globally, women’s health is being reshaped by decisions that are stripping away access to essential care, information, and services. Eligibility for funding is increasingly out of reach, and most women’s health nonprofits, including Hormonally, now rely entirely on the generosity of individuals who recognise the impact women face as a result of funding cuts, inadequate care and a lack of access to supportive resources. It’s easy to feel removed from these issues, especially when we assume health education and community spaces should be accessible and free to everyone. The reality is that this is no longer guaranteed and supporting nonprofits filling gaps in access is a smart, effective way to combat barriers and make a real difference. Hormonally was founded in response to the countless stories I encountered during my research - stories of women fighting to feel seen and heard. It was also personal: as someone living with multiple gynaecological conditions, I know firsthand how access to support, care, and community can change everything. At Hormonally, community isn’t just something we talk about, it’s at the heart of everything we do.
