  • Did you know Kentucky's tallest bridge stands 324 feet above the valley below? That's even taller than the Statue of Liberty! Last month, members of the Palmer team traveled to Pike County with Onyroz LLC to film along US 460. Along the way, they crossed and photographed some of eastern Kentucky's impressive bridges, including the Russell Fork Bridge. Eastern Kentucky is home to some remarkable examples of bridge engineering, including the Harrell Caudill Memorial Bridge (Pond Creek Bridge), which stands 324 feet above the valley below as Kentucky's tallest bridge. These incredible structures showcase the engineering that helps connect communities throughout the Commonwealth. Stay tuned as we'll be sharing more highlights from our visit!

  • 30 million cubic yards‼️That's how much material will be excavated during construction of the Magoffin-Floyd segment of the Mountain Parkway Expansion. It sounds like an unbelievable amount of material—and it is. But here's the impressive part: nearly all of it will stay right here on the project. Instead of hauling rock to outside dump sites, crews are reusing it to build embankments, shape the new roadway and even create rock-lined drainage channels. It's all part of a carefully engineered plan that reduces waste, limits costly hauling and makes the most of the natural materials already on site. 🎥 Watch where one truckload of rock goes, then learn more about how every load has a purpose. 🔗 Read more at https://ow.ly/aCEn50ZmSZa

  • From high above the river and below the bridge deck, here's a behind-the-scenes look at last month's inspection of the Glover Cary Bridge in Owensboro, KY. 🌉 With approximately 7,200 vehicles crossing the bridge each day between Daviess County, KY and Southern Indiana, inspections like these help keep this vital connection safe and in top shape for everyone who relies on it. Thanks to our bridge inspection team and our partners from HDR for the work they do to help keep our communities connected. City of Owensboro
