Most operators think scaling a marketplace means adding retailers. The real bottleneck shows up earlier: who's governing all of it once you do. Omnevo's Product Director Johannes Moll breaks down what actually separates a marketplace that scales from one that just gets more complicated. Automated retailer onboarding and product validation. A single source of truth across every sales channel. Order routing that doesn't need manual intervention. Payment orchestration flexible enough to support both merchant-of-record and multi-merchant models. Passengers see one consistent shop window. Retail managers get centralised control. Neither happens by accident. Read the full breakdown: https://lnkd.in/ei_Z4h2F #TravelRetail #TravelRetailTechnology #AncillaryRevenue #InflightRetail #eCommerce

Security isn't a feature. It's a foundation. Most travel retail breaches don't start with hackers. They start with too many systems, too much customer data, and not enough oversight of either. Omnevo has achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the international standard for information security management. For our customers and partners: independent proof that our security management system meets recognised best practice, backed by real controls, active risk management, and continuous improvement. For us: confirmation that the technology powering modern travel retail is secure by design, not secure as an afterthought. Thanks to everyone across Omnevo who got us here. Certifications like this are earned by the people doing the work, not the ones announcing it. https://lnkd.in/evzzic_v #ISO27001 #InformationSecurity #CyberSecurity #TravelRetail #RetailTechnology #Airlines #Airports #Rail #DigitalTransformation #Omnevo

As travel retail continues to evolve, the conversation is shifting beyond individual channels and transactions towards connected retail ecosystems that deliver seamless experiences for passengers and measurable value for operators. In this exclusive interview, our CEO, Dr. Jan Christoph Meyer shares his vision for the future of travel commerce, where connectivity, personalization, operational intelligence and commerce work together as one. As Jan explains: "The goal is not simply to sell more products, but to help airlines create smarter, more relevant experiences that strengthen loyalty while driving sustainable ancillary revenue growth." It's a vision that's driving everything we build at Omnevo, from retail and logistics to payments, marketplaces and customer engagement. A big thank you to PAX International & PAX Tech Magazines for the opportunity to share our perspective. Did you know that if you don't pre-order your meal before a flight, there's a chance the one you don't choose ends up in the bin? Not because airlines want waste. But because airlines have to make an educated guess about what passengers will want to eat before a flight departs. For years, the aviation industry has talked about pre-order through two lenses: ✈️ Better passenger experience 💰 Higher ancillary revenue Both matter. But I think we're overlooking a third benefit that deserves far more attention: ♻️ Reducing food waste. Here's what I think many passengers don't realise. If an airline doesn't know what passengers want to eat, it has to load extra meals onboard to ensure enough choice. But once a fresh meal has been prepared, catered and flown, it usually isn't getting sold on the next flight. If nobody chooses it, there's a good chance it ends up in the bin. That's why demand visibility matters. And it makes me wonder... If passengers knew that not pre-ordering often means extra meals are catered "just in case", would they make different choices? Would they spend 30 seconds selecting a meal before departure if they knew it could help reduce waste? Across Omnevo customer programmes, we've seen pre-order deliver: ✅ Up to 2x higher average order values compared to onboard sales ✅ Passenger adoption rates exceeding 15%, with some programmes reaching 50%+ ✅ Improved operational planning for airlines and catering teams ✅ Better availability of preferred products and meals The commercial case is already proven, but the sustainability opportunity may be even bigger. Because pre-order isn't just about convenience, it's about giving airlines better demand visibility. It's about reducing uncertainty. And ultimately, it's about making more informed decisions about what gets loaded onboard in the first place. Of course, there are challenges. Passengers don't always know what they'll want before a flight. Airlines don't want to risk running out of options. Caterers need flexibility to deliver reliable service. But if we're serious about reducing waste, shouldn't demand certainty be part of the conversation? I'd love to hear from both passengers and industry professionals: Should airlines do more to educate passengers about the role pre-ordering can play in reducing food waste? Or is sustainability unlikely to change passenger behaviour? #foodandbeverage #aviation #aviationtech

The first day of the Data Innovation Summit is over, and I’m happy that my talk was part of this event. In my presentation, I shared our experience of building a BI platform at Omnevo. Today, many discussions are focused on AI adoption and ready-made solutions, but much less attention is given to the intermediate steps and temporary compromises teams make along the way. I wanted to show that data platforms can be built on an open-source stack, and that even early architectural mistakes can be fixed iteratively — without rebuilding everything from scratch at once. In many cases, a pragmatic approach helps reduce risks while still moving forward. One of the most valuable parts of conferences like this is learning from how other teams solve similar challenges. Thanks to the entire Data Innovation Summit team for the organization and support, and special thanks to Anastasiia Glebova for moderating my track. Great to be part of this event as a speaker — and there are still two more days ahead. #DIS2026x1
