Remota is proud to announce a new collaborative innovation project with NOV and Solstad to explore the potential of remote crane operations 🏗️ In this groundbreaking pilot, the NOV 350mt AHC subsea crane onboard Normand Sentinel will be operated remotely from Remota’s Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Haugesund, supported by advanced connectivity and cybersecurity infrastructure. The project aims to: ✔️ Increase operational flexibility ✔️ Reduce costs ✔️ Improve resource utilization ✔️ Expand recruitment opportunities in the maritime industry By moving crane operations from offshore to onshore, we are also opening the door to a broader and more diverse talent pool while contributing to smarter and more sustainable maritime operations. The first phase of the project will focus on scope definition, documentation, and operator involvement before infrastructure upgrades and technology development begin onboard the vessel and at our ROC 🕹️ This marks Remota’s second pilot project on the Normand Sentinel, alongside the ongoing Remote DP collaboration, and further strengthens our mission to transform how offshore operations are performed.
