A big thank you to Foster + Partners for inviting Patrick O'Mahony and Paul Crick to speak at one of your sessions. It was a pleasure to share the story behind two of our Spaces projects, SPECTRA and SEE MONSTER, in our talk, Sand, Sea & Silhouette: The Making of an Icon. The session explored the journey from early creative thinking through to delivery and how ambitious concepts can evolve into destination defining landmarks. We also discussed the role these interventions can play within wider masterplans - creating places that people want to visit, remember and return to, while giving communities and destinations a distinctive identity. Thanks Saxbourne Cheung and Roxy Ward-Williams for the invitation, and to everyone who joined us and shared such thoughtful questions. Some stage moments are simply too good to leave in the archives 🐘 Originally created for The Circus Live in 2009, it's fantastic to see this iconic elephant back on tour with Take That. Take That's return also reminds us of our own chapter in their touring history. Back in 2011, we worked on the Progress Live Tour, helping to deliver a range of large-scale scenic and performance elements for what became one of the highest-grossing and most attended tours in UK history - the image shows the set design for the Progress Tour. As a physical-first studio, it's great to see artists and audiences continuing to embrace ambitious large-scale props and set design. These shared physical moments have a unique power to surprise and bring people together in ways that purely digital set designs often cannot. I recently had my 1 year anniversary with NEWSUBSTANCE, and I could not be happier. There are two things I’ve always known I wanted in this life: a career in the arts and to travel the world. My commitment to building the life I always envisioned for myself has been my top priority for many years. Everyday I come into the office is an affirmation that dedicating yourself to your passions will always reward you. The last year (feels like maybe 8 months at best!) has been filled with incredible projects, growth in skills I didn’t even know I had and inspiring opportunities to dream big. I am very grateful for it all. 🙏🏼 💫

It's always rewarding to see your work reach new audiences. A huge thank you to Qantas for featuring our Co-op Live CityLink project in the May edition of Life in Colour, within the magazine's Create section. The article explores how the CityLink route uses light, sound and public art to connect communities and guide visitors through Manchester, helping create a stronger sense of place around Co-op Live. As luck would have it, Patrick O'Mahony was flying back from Australia when the issue was published, so he was able to pick up a copy on board. Seeing a project from the North of England featured in an airline magazine on the other side of the world was a great reminder of how far creative work can travel. With World Cup fever building and our teams for the charity sweepstake officially drawn, all the excitement has us looking back at one of our favourite tournament projects: the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Countdown Clock. Installed on Doha Corniche, the clock wasn't just counting down the days until kick-off, it was also live streaming photos and messages from fans around the world. Today, it still stands on the waterfront as a landmark of the tournament. Projects like this are a reminder of what makes major sporting events so special. They bring people together through a shared sense of excitement, optimism and anticipation. We love being part of that journey.
