During this exceptionally difficult time for our New Castle family, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness, compassion, and support from our community following the tragic loss of one of our team members. The calls, messages, flowers, meals, texts, prayers, and countless acts of support have meant more to us than words can properly express. In moments like these, you are reminded how deeply connected a community can truly be, and we are incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such caring people. We have also been incredibly moved by the support shown from others within the landscaping industry, including fellow companies and even competitors who changed their profile pictures and publicly stood beside us in solidarity. Those gestures did not go unnoticed. In an industry where we all work hard every day, seeing others pause to support our team during such a heartbreaking time has meant more than we can adequately put into words. Our hearts remain with our teammate’s family, friends, and everyone impacted by this loss. Thank you for lifting up our team, standing beside us, and showing so much love during this heartbreaking time. Your support has brought comfort, strength, and a reminder that community truly matters.

Last night was something special. Honored to celebrate my good friend John Gallen, this year’s recipient of the Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence. His path of purpose and recovery isn’t just a story—it’s a living example of what’s possible when someone commits to doing the hard work and giving back. Our community is better because of him. Grateful to serve as Co-MC alongside Kate Appleman, who continues to make a real impact through her work with Caron Treatment Centers. Being part of a night like this reminds you how powerful it is when people come together around a shared mission. Recovery is real. Change is possible. And last night was proof. #Recovery #Leadership #Community #Purpose #Gratitude #Caron #Impact

Most of the numbers you see in this industry… don’t actually help you. They just make you feel behind. I wrote this for Lawn & Landscape magazine because no one is saying it straight: We throw numbers around with zero context. “Top companies run at 15% net.” “Labor should be X%.” “Overhead should be Y%.” Compared to what? • What size company? • What stage of growth? • What service mix? • What market? • What leadership structure? None of that gets talked about. So what happens? A newer or smaller company reads it… and immediately feels like they’re behind. Like they’re doing something wrong. When in reality… those numbers might not even apply to them. At all. I’ve sat in rooms with owners beating themselves up over margins that don’t make sense for where they are. Trying to force their business into a model they haven’t built yet. That’s where the damage is. Not in the numbers… in the lack of context. Numbers without context don’t create clarity. They create insecurity. And insecure leaders make bad decisions. This is exactly why LeanScaper matters. It’s a movement where people actually tell the truth. Where a $500K company can sit next to a $50M company and not feel less than. Because the conversation isn’t: “Here’s the number you should be at.” It’s: “Here’s where I am, here’s what I’ve learned, and here’s what actually works.” No ego. No pretending. No out-of-context benchmarks. Just real conversations that help people build better businesses. If you’re earlier in your journey, you shouldn’t look like a mature company. You should look like a company that’s: • figuring things out • building systems • learning what works • making mistakes and getting better That’s the work. Stop measuring yourself against numbers you don’t understand. Start asking: “Do these numbers even make sense for where we are right now?” Because if they don’t… they’re not benchmarks. They’re noise. #Leadership #LeanScaper #NewCastleLawnAndLandscape #Entrepreneurship #SmallBusiness #Growth https://lnkd.in/eBcmN-tp

Investing in the next generation is not just something we talk about. It is something we actively do. Today, our President, Brian Cuccaro, and Sales Executive, Chrissy Heim, had the opportunity to return to their alma mater, Governor Mifflin High School, to spend time with students in the classroom. They shared what a career in landscaping really looks like, from design and plant knowledge to building outdoor spaces that impact how people live and experience their environment. More importantly, they answered questions, sparked curiosity, and helped students get hands-on by identifying plant material inside the school’s garden. These moments matter. They connect real-world opportunities to students who are just beginning to think about their future. At New Castle Lawn & Landscape, giving back to our community is a core pillar of who we are. We are committed to building more than landscapes. We are committed to building people, careers, and stronger communities. #CommunityImpact #FutureLeaders #LandscapingCareers #WorkforceDevelopment #BerksCounty #GiveBack
