About us

The mission of the North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA) is to provide a unified source for the professional development, promotion, growth, and sustenance of the Deck and Railing building industry in North America so that members can exceed the expectations of their customers. NADRA Members NADRA is made up of deck builders, inspectors, manufacturers, dealers/distributors, lumberyards, wholesalers, retailers, and service providers to the deck and railing industry. By working together we can be one voice for the industry and deliver a clear message to the consumer and the code development bodies. NADRA serves as a trade association with emphasis on safe building practices, and deck safety. • A Message from Andrew Pantelides, NADRA Board President This past week, we celebrated two important moments in the history of our nations: the Fourth of July and Canada Day. As a proud Canadian and President of the North American Deck and Railing Association, this week reminds me of something I see throughout our industry every day: "The strongest relationships are not defined by borders. Across Canada and the United States, builders, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and industry professionals share ideas, solve problems, and learn from one another. Competitors become colleagues. Business relationships become friendships....." Read the full message here: https://lnkd.in/eNQqyCkz

  • For 250 years Americans have been doing what they do best. Gathering outside, firing up the grill, watching fireworks with the people they love most. ❤️🤍💙 And more often than not, that moment happens on a deck. This Fourth of July NADRA is celebrating the builders who make those moments possible and the families who fill them. Happy 250th America. Go enjoy your deck. • 🏆 NADRA’s National+ Deck Competition 2025 Illumination on a Deck 🥉 Third Place Techwood Decks This project is a complete backyard transformation designed to bring outdoor living to life — beautifully illuminated in every detail. When the homeowner first approached us, the yard had potential but lacked warmth and function. Our vision went beyond pavers: we created a large, multi-level deck that connects all areas of the property, blending structure, nature, and light. Lighting became the soul of this design. LED step lights highlight every level with a soft, elegant glow, while colored lights accent the plants and landscaping. The existing tree was illuminated to create a stunning focal point — adding that special touch that makes the space magical at night. We also added round recessed lights directly into the decking boards, giving the deck a floating effect. The custom outdoor kitchen is fully illuminated, making it both functional and dramatic after dark. During the day, the homeowners can relax and enjoy the open space — and when night falls, the party doesn’t have to stop.

  • 🏆 NADRA’s National+ Deck Competition 2025 Inlay on a Deck 🥇 First Place Hen-House Decks Partners: CAMO Fastener, TimberTech, FastenMaster, Under the Sun This project redefines what’s possible in deck design, combining creativity, precision, and craftsmanship to produce a one-of-a-kind inlay layout that stands apart from anything in the neighborhood. The goal was to move beyond the standard straight decking pattern and create a flowing, interwoven design that visually connects the entire space. Each board was carefully cut, aligned, and installed to form seamless geometric intersections, requiring exact measurements and advanced layout skills to maintain perfect symmetry and color balance. What truly sets this project apart is how the inlay continues gracefully down the steps— a feature rarely seen and extremely difficult to execute. Carrying the pattern through elevation changes demanded exceptional accuracy to ensure the lines aligned perfectly from the deck surface to the stair treads and risers. This continuous design element ties the entire build together, creating a sense of motion and craftsmanship that few can replicate. Every cut, angle, and transition was meticulously planned and executed, resulting in a deck that is not only structurally sound but a true piece of art in outdoor living.
