The most visible aspect of our business are the MULTOS modules, or chips, that we provide to over 35 card manufacturing partners globally, with our technology being the choice of many of the world's leading financial institutions, system integrators and government- issued identity programs. For more than 20 years we have supplied these markets with products based on MULTOS - the world's most secure, multi-application smartcard operating system. Our team, with development centres in Australia, Singapore and the UK, and sales and technical support offices dispersed around the world, have collaborated with major payment schemes, transit providers and government agencies to produce not only the MULTOS products, but also the applications and tools necessary to implement world-class smartcard installations. This includes working with all the major global payment systems, as well as local/regional ATM and debit schemes. The development and sales of secure smartcard technology is supplemented by a technical support team that strives to provide the highest level of customer-focused technical and business support. These specialists are dedicated to ensuring customers receive timely support and training at every stage of their smartcard programmes. The expertise of this group extends to technical consulting, specification development, EMV parameter setting and training on all aspects of the smartcard ecosystem

Technology Review Platforms
Although the term "MULTOS" is used to refer to the worlds most secure smartcard operating system, there are actually two versions of MULTOS available. Full MULTOS implementations are RSA capable and require interaction with a key management authority (KMA) to provide the cryptographic files necessary to enable the chips and to load applications. MULTOS step/one is a lower-cost, non-RSA capable implementation that was designed specifically for financial issuers who are migrating to EMV. The primary difference that issuers will notice is that instead of a KMA, cryptographic assurance is provided by issuer-hosted software, known as Control Centre.

Na semana passada tivemos o prazer de participar do painel "Global Platforms and the Race for Practical Quantum Supremacy", coordenado por Jorge Krug (Banrisul) ao lado de Américo Alonso (Atos) e Wagner Arnaut (IBM), durante o South Summit 2026 em Porto Alegre (Brasil). Durante o painel, colocamos alguns elementos importantes sobre os avanços nos desenvolvimentos e pesquisas sobre computação quântica e algoritmos de criptografia pós-quântica, analisando potenciais riscos para segurança digital e meios de pagamentos. A chegada da computação quântica traz novos desafios para a segurança dos meios de pagamento. A migração para criptografia pós‑quântica exigirá não apenas a atualização tecnológica de cartões, terminais e módulos criptográficos, mas também a definição de novos padrões globais. Especialistas apontam uma transição gradual a partir de 2030, com foco inicial em soluções híbridas. Embora transações online ainda se mantenham seguras, o maior ponto de atenção hoje está nas transações offline, especialmente na autenticação entre cartão e terminal. Preparar o ecossistema desde já é fundamental para garantir a segurança no futuro. ----- Last week, we had the pleasure of participating in the panel “Global Platforms and the Race for Practical Quantum Supremacy”, moderated by Jorge Krug (Banrisul), alongside Américo Alonso (Atos) and Wagner Arnaut (IBM), during South Summit 2026 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. During the panel, we discussed key aspects of recent advances in quantum computing research and post‑quantum cryptography, analyzing potential risks to digital security and the #payments ecosystem. The advent of quantum computing brings new challenges to #payment security. The transition to post‑quantum cryptography will require not only the technology upgrade of cards, payment terminals, and cryptographic modules, but also the definition of new global standards. Experts point to a gradual transition starting around 2030, initially focusing on hybrid solutions. While online transactions remain secure for now, the main area of concern today lies in offline transactions—particularly the authentication between card and terminal.
