Morris Group has officially been named the successful tenderer to take over the lease for Double Island in Tropical North Queensland. A $40 million, four-stage revitalisation plan will return this iconic landmark to the community, beginning with the construction of a brand-new public beach bar, restaurant, and jetty. Following the delivery of these public amenities, the development will introduce a luxury accommodation offering, Double Island Lodge. This project aims to restore public access and create a destination that locals and visitors can once again be proud of. It’s been a challenging start to the year for communities across northern Queensland with ongoing heavy rains and the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Koji. The team from Nautilus Aviation Pty Ltd has been out doing what they can to assist, with multiple aircrafts deployed all over the region for aerial operations in flood-affected areas including swift water rescue, emergency transfers, property and road inspections, and more. We’re so proud of every single team member who’s played a role in the disaster response and recovery efforts.

It's the season of giving, and a great time to reflect on the incredible work of the grassroots organisations supported by Morris Family Foundation. In 2025, The School Of St Jude in Tanzania celebrated 23 years of fighting poverty through education. Why does their work matter? Because only five percent of Tanzanians aged from 20 to 25 are enrolled in tertiary education. Morris Family Foundation has supported the school since 2010. Another big night of wins for our team in Townsville at the North Queensland Tourism and Events Awards over the weekend. The Ville Resort-Casino once again won the award for Best Business and Conferencing Venue landing them a spot in the coveted Hall of Fame for the category, while Ardo was named the region’s Best Hotel.
