Here's a bit of a look at what I've been up to the past year! With support from fivefold studios, University of South Wales, Gorilla Academy and Sally Lisk-Lewis and the team at #MediaCymru, I was part of a Virtual Production Fellowship, learning the skills, technology and workflows to make the next steps in my creative career. As an aspiring producer, the fellowship allowed me the opportunity to utilise my production skills and experience, and oversee the creation of a TV commercial, shot on an LED wall at Dragon (TV & Film) Studios Wales, with a hand-built virtual 3d environment. Working with my fellow cohort was a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to advocate and produce for future VP projects within Wales!

Today is launch day! Echoes of Revolution: Boston and Echoes of Revolution: NYC are now live! Two city-scale augmented reality experiences for mobile devices, set in the world of the video game Assassin's CreedÂŽ III, bringing the revolutionary history of both cities to life on the streets where it happened, launched to coincide with the 250th anniversary of American Independence. This has been over 2 years in the making, and we could not be prouder of the entire Sugar Creative team who built it. Their craft, vision and care are embedded in every moment of these experiences. Echoes of Revolution exists because a lot of people chose to build it together. From a studio in Cardiff to partners in Paris, Boston, New York and Seattle, it has been a true collaboration from the start, and every organisation below has played their part in making this a reality. A huge thank you to Amy Jenkins-Le GuerrouĂŠ, Martina Strina and the team at Ubisoft, whose worlds of Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Rogue bring the experience to life and whose input has been invaluable throughout the entire process. In Boston, a huge thank you to Matthew Wilding at Revolutionary Spaces, Ellen Garrity Foord, Alexander Meadow and Megan Le at the City of Boston, Roubina Surenian at Meet Boston and George C. at Downtown Boston Alliance for all your incredible support. Also Tripp Whalen and David Clay MBE and everyone at the Department for Business and Trade in Boston. Also Old North Illuminated, Museum of African American History and The West End Museum for their time, guidance and help spreading the word! In New York, a special thank you to Peter-Christian Aigner and Ted Knudsen at the Gotham Center For New York, and Charlie Thomas at the Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government Wales in North America team in NYC, all for making the New York story a reality. And to Joe Gabriel and the team at Niantic Spatial, Inc., whose tech underpins both experiences and makes this level of location-based AR possible. None of this happens without our funding partners. It is a source of real pride that a Welsh studio is helping to bring these cities' revolutionary stories back to life. And its thanks to our funders here in Wales that have helped make this project a reality. A huge thank you to Kathryn Wolfe-Adams and Beth Romais at Creative Wales | Cymru Greadigol and the hugely supportive team at Media Cymru including Gavin Johnson, Professor Sara Louise Pepper OBE and justin lewis. And to Louisa Spring and Courtney Tononi at T-Mobile INNOVATE. You backed the R&D behind this when it was still just an ambition on paper, and that early faith is the reason any of it exists today. Thank you for seeing it before it was a thing to see. Head to Boston or New York and download Echoes of Revolution for free on iOS and Android! Find both at echoesofrevolution.com

Education, skills development and creating opportunities for the next generation is something we care deeply about at Real SFX 🎬 We were proud to be part of the Media Cymru and fivefold studios Paul Higgins Legacy Lecture at Dragon (TV & Film) Studios Wales, bringing Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd and University of South Wales students together with professionals from across the Welsh screen industries to share insight, experience and opportunities within film and television. The event highlighted the strength of collaboration across the industry, with talks from Gareth Skelding of Dragon (TV & Film) Studios Wales, Joseph Higgins, Rosie Higgins at Unquiet Media and Peter Effenberg from MediaTech Hub Potsdam, all sharing their experiences and perspectives on the future of the creative industries. Carmela Carrubba also spoke about the REAL SFX LTD journey, the importance of investing in future talent - highlighting the value of hands-on experience and building career pathways here in Wales. It was also incredibly rewarding to see some of our own former Sgil Cymru apprentices in the room too - now part of the Real SFX team as trainee SFX technicians 💥 A brilliant event focused on creativity, collaboration and supporting the future of the industry.
