Mapillary API Update: Start getting your steps in with our new on_foot addition! 🚶♂️ Mapillary's latest API update introduces the on_foot field, allowing you to seamlessly filter imagery captured along pedestrian pathways. Powered by an updated prediction model boasting ~90% accuracy, this new field helps you instantly isolate sidewalk and trail data from vehicle or bicycle captures. You can test this feature out right now! The on_foot filter is officially live in the Mapillary web app, returning the exact same precise results as the API. Mapillary Feature Update : Captures Nearby 📍 Powered by our new radius API, we’ve introduced a new "captures nearby" feature on mapillary.com to streamline spatial analysis and street-level imagery discovery. When viewing any image, a new counter in the lower right corner opens a carousel of surrounding coverage. Hover over thumbnails to see the exact capture location, making it easy to find alternative views, track historical changes, or discover new coverage. Mapillary API Update : Radius Search 📍 🕛 We are excited to share that you can now instantly search for images near any geographic coordinate using latitude, longitude, and a radius, complete with smart filtering. When searching, our API automatically returns the single "best" image within a 50-meter radius based on proximity, how recent an image is, and whether it’s a 360° view. Quick Specs: • lat / lng: Center point coordinates. • radius: Up to 50 meters. • limit: Request anywhere from 1 to 100 images.
