  • In a traditional CRO model, communication between Data Management teams and investigators can be limited, with questions often passing through several departments before reaching the clinical site. Because MAC owns and operates its own clinical sites, our teams can speak directly with the investigators involved in the study. This makes it easier to arrange calls, discuss questions and gather the information needed without unnecessary handovers. That direct communication can support both quality and timelines by helping teams access the information they need more quickly. • MAC combines an MHRA-accredited Early Phase Unit with in-house bioanalytical and clinical pathology laboratories, and GMP Manufacturing all under one roof to streamline your drug development from discovery to trial delivery. Our specialist techniques, human models of disease and pharmacodynamic assessments can be incorporated directly into early phase studies, helping generate meaningful data sooner and support faster study delivery. • Biometrics is about much more than data management. Medical writing, programming and statistics all play an important role in how a clinical trial is designed, delivered and reported. Close collaboration between these teams, medical colleagues, investigators and clinical sites can help ensure protocols are not only scientifically sound, but also practical to deliver. The same applies later in the study, when statistical outputs need to be interpreted and presented in a way that reflects their clinical relevance. At MAC, these connections run across the full process, from protocol development and data collection through to analysis and reporting, helping teams work with a clearer understanding of both the data and the practical realities of the trial. • Clinical research is only possible because of the people behind it. On Research Appreciation Day, we’re recognising everyone who contributes to the development and delivery of research. Every study relies on people with a wide range of skills working together, from planning and recruitment through to delivery, data analysis and reporting. Whether developing potential new treatments, supporting studies behind the scenes or taking part as a participant, every contribution matters. At MAC Clinical Research, we’re proud to play our part. We have studied more than 250 indications, supported over 120 sponsors and built a team of hundreds of staff across a growing network of dedicated research sites. Thank you to everyone helping advance research and clinical development! #ResearchAppreciationDay #ClinicalResearch #CRO

  • Fewer laboratory handovers. Faster results. MAC’s in-house laboratories support drug development from preclinical analysis through to clinical trial delivery, including pharmacokinetics, biomarkers, clinical pathology and first-in-human studies. By bringing sample reception, bioanalytical and clinical pathology services together under one roof, we simplify contracting, reduce vendor interfaces and help sponsors reach key decisions sooner. • Episode 6 of MAC: Behind the Trials is now available to watch in full. In this episode, our team explores the role of Biometrics in clinical research and why closer connections between biometric services and clinical sites can make such a difference. Hosted by Chris Chadwick, the episode features: 🔹 Graham Downing, Vice President of Biometrics 🔹 Martin McTurk, Head of Data Management Together, they discuss how traditional CRO structures can create barriers between Biometrics and site teams, and the advantages of a more connected approach for communication, quality and study timelines. • According to the charity PTSD UK, one in 10 people will experience post-traumatic stress disorder at some point in their lifetime. Yet it is estimated that up to 70% of people living with PTSD and C-PTSD in the UK do not receive any professional help. Today is PTSD Awareness Day, an opportunity to increase understanding of the condition and highlight the importance of access to effective support and treatment. PTSD can develop after someone experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance, feeling constantly on alert and changes in mood or thinking, all of which can affect everyday life. MAC has delivered more than 30 psychiatry studies in the past five years, covering a range of mental health conditions including PTSD, OCD and MDD. • Participant retention is essential to the success of any clinical trial. At MAC, we work to make sure participants are well-informed, pre-screened and actively supported from start to finish. Interested and potential patients are initially handled through our dedicated, multi-channel contact centre in the UK, with a large, highly skilled team focused on delivering the right patients for the right study. Our bespoke recruitment and retention programme, MAC EnVision®, combines an experienced in-house team with a purpose-built engagement platform. It’s designed to help us identify the right participants quickly and accurately, while keeping them engaged throughout the study. It’s an approach that works. Our retention rates remain consistently high, helping Sponsors safeguard both data quality and study timelines Get in touch to learn how we can support your next study: https://lnkd.in/egdaCbSP #RetentionMatters #ParticipantEngagement #CRO #ClinicalResearch

  • In the next episode of MAC: Behind the Trials, we look at the role Biometrics services play in clinical research. The discussion looks at how, within a traditional CRO, there can be a barrier between biometric services and clinical sites, with teams often working separately. Drawing on the more connected approach used at MAC, we explore the advantages of bringing Biometrics and site teams closer together, particularly when it comes to study quality and timelines. Keep an eye out for the full episode, coming soon to our YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/ehbqCBKp #MACBehindTheTrials #Biometrics #ClinicalResearch #CRO

  • Today is World Psychedelics Day, which aims to raise awareness, encourage informed discussion and support responsible approaches to psychedelics. It’s also an opportunity to consider the potential of psychedelic treatments for mental health conditions including depression, anxiety and PTSD and the difference this research may make for people living with these conditions. For some participants, clinicians can see a noticeable difference over a relatively short period such as 1 month. Changes in eye contact, communication and the ability to build rapport can show the real human impact behind the research. Over the past five years, MAC has conducted 15 psychedelic and dissociative drug studies, contributing to the growing evidence around these treatments and how they can be delivered safely. Learn more about MAC’s experience in psychedelic research: https://lnkd.in/ehj4zZ3X #WPD620 #WorldPsychedelicsDay #ClinicalResearch
